Besides looking to start a new war in Syria, First SWC should address the nation to explain progress in war he escalated on direction of his pupms. Bloodbath all around world since neecons planted the Nobel Peace prize plant in office. About 100,000 killed in Syria since the ntool started supporting Al Qaeda linked militants in civil war there.

In Afghanistan, resurgent Taliban takes toll; more than 100 die in attacks in past week

KABUL — A suicide bombing Saturday outside a bank in the southern city of Kandahar, which killed six people and wounded at least 24, was the latest in a grisly spurt of attacks by Taliban insurgents that have killed more than 100 people across a half-dozen provinces in the past week.
The attacks included the firebombing of more than 50 tank trucks in a coalition convoy in far western Farah province, the storming of a U.S.-Polish army base in Ghazni province, a suicide attack at a funeral in northern Kunduz province, and the kidnapping and killing of six U.N. workers in Herat province (http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-08-27/world/41466542_1_taliban-attacks-nato-led-coalition-western-herat-province).

A Taliban Web site claimed that the rash of bombings, ambushes (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/provincial-official-says-taliban-kill-15-afghan-policemen-in-western-part-of-the-country/2013/08/29/64ca6ac6-107d-11e3-a2b3-5e107edf9897_story.html) and killings constituted the most successful run of attacks by the insurgency in years. The statement did not elaborate on the motive behind the surge, but analysts attributed it to several factors, from the repeated breakdowns of peace talks to the recent political tumult in Egypt.

Australian Troops Accused Of Cutting Off Afghan Insurgent's Hands
By ROD McGUIRK 08/30/13 05:23 AM ET EDT

CANBERRA, Australia -- Australian special forces troops are under investigation for allegedly cutting off the hands of at least one dead insurgent in Afghanistan, a national broadcaster reported Friday.
The hands were brought back to the Australian base in Tarin Kowt in Uruzgan province to be fingerprinted after a battle in which four insurgents were killed, Australian Broadcasting Corp. said.

ABC did not report why the hands were not fingerprinted at the scene of the battle.
The report said that an investigator from the Australian Defense Force Investigative Service – a branch of the military – told troops during a briefing that it didn't matter how the fingerprints were taken and that chopping off the hands of the dead and bringing them back to base was acceptable.

The mutilation or mistreatment of dead bodies can be a violation of the laws of war.

Afghan forces suffering 'unsustainable' casualties, says top Nato commander

Afghan police and army may need west's support for years, says General Dunford, as security forces' weekly death toll tops 100

Afghanistan (http://www.theguardian.com/world/afghanistan)'s police and army are losing too many men in battle, and may need up to five more years of western support before they can fight independently, the top US and Nato (http://www.theguardian.com/world/nato) commander in the country has told the Guardian.
General Joseph Dunford also said in an interview that it was too early to judge whether Nato had been right to end combat operations in Afghanistan this spring. Western forces have officially offered only training and support to the Afghan army and police during the brutal fighting season of the summer months.
