A new study by the Journal of Youth and Adolescence found no link between violent video games and increased bullying or delinquency among teens with clinically-elevated mental health issues. Furthermore, in some cases, game play led to a reduction in aggressive tendencies. Time and time again, scientific studies are disproving the theories used to justify censorship.

Pure hypocrisy, plain and simple. Shifting blame onto something else so they don't have to use their brains to deduce where the actual problems lie. They're doing the exact same thing those who want to ban guns tend to do.

I don't buy this. I am definitely not for making anything illegal, but I think its a bit of a stretch to say that these don't influence violence among youth. How does desensitization not cause an increase in violence?

Well yeah, they sell millions+ of violent video games every year, and yet we only get less than a dozen of violent people who may have played lots of video games.

I read a book from the 1800's that blamed violence on violent carnival games kids play-- same concept, but I don't think its the case.

A study like this is almost impossible to conduct. There are too many factors to isolate which causes many studies to contradict themselves - just like studies that claim red wine is good for you, no wait it is bad for you etc....

The best thing for most of these is moderation. Live and let live.
