These graphs just made it difficult to argue with a progressive, despite how much I tell them I hate Bush.

The employment recovery during Mr. Bush's first term was very sluggish, and private employment was down 946,000 jobs at the end of his first term. At the end of Mr. Bush's second term, private employment was collapsing, and there were net 665,000 jobs lost during Mr. Bush's two terms.

The recovery has been sluggish under Mr. Obama's presidency too, and there were only 1,933,000 more private sector jobs at the end of Mr. Obama's first term. A couple of months into Mr. Obama's second term, there are now 2,282,000 more private sector jobs than when he took office.

A big difference between Mr. Bush's tenure in office and Mr. Obama's presidency has been public sector employment. The public sector grew during Mr. Bush's term (up 1,748,000 jobs), but the public sector has declined since Obama took office (down 718,000 jobs). These job losses have mostly been at the state and local level, but they are still a significant drag on overall employment.

Repeat:

PUBLIC SECTOR UNDER BUSH - plus 1,748,000
PUBLIC SECTOR UNDER OBAMA - minus 718,000

'Public Sector' includes state and local governments and apparently most of the losses have come from state and local government... yet the facts as claimed above still show Obama increasing private sector jobs and decreasing overall public sector jobs during his term, making it difficult to make the argument that most of the job creation has been in government.

I am making the argument in return that the losses to the private sector have been reducing revenue for governments forcing them to cut, but the Federal Govt. has still grown (Sources??) and even the private sector jobs we are creating are retail jobs that are selling mostly good made from China, to whom we are in debt. So those jobs are costing us money as well and destroying the private sector and are replacing jobs that used to be able to buy houses and raise families.

I'm just curious if anybody has seen any data recently I can use to add to any of this.

I wouldn't try to defend Bush in any way. And I would point out that the private sector employment added during Obama's term has been mostly part-time. The quality of the job matters.

Larger companies will need more people at fewer hours in order to overcome Obombercare.

Are these "private sector" jobs being funded by the government with public dollars? E.g., "private" prisons (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?365928-Courts-Jury-s-and-Plea-Bargains-The-bastardization-of-the-legal-system&p=5199612&viewfull=1#post5199612), "private" communications companies (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?425796-NSA-paying-U-S-companies-for-access-to-communications-networks), doctors paid from Medicare, and farm-subsidy (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?423329-14-year-old-teen-GMO-activist-schools-TV-Host&p=5159436&viewfull=1#post5159436) recipients? If so, what difference does it make if they are labeled "private" for accounting purposes?

Edited to correct mistake

Obama said, lets borrow $1 Trillion off the people backs and build our roadways/infrastructure across America.

Instead of using Caterpillar's 797F dump trucks and D11 tractors... all those in America unemployed will be given a SPOON and working 30 hours or less a week digging roads and bridges. See, EVERYONE is employed! There! Unemployment is down to 0% and everyone has a job!

As for government... most cuts are from local, city/county/states... which can't print their own money like the FEDS, but always look for more covert bailouts from the FEDS. Cities going bankrupt, states still have massive debt, massive unfunded obligations. I can rack up huge stimulus programs around the house, new cars, pay gardeners/landscaping, etc, and put it on the credit cards and loans. But when the bills come due... it's either steal money from someone, and if it's government, it''s always through taxes and inflation, to pay for my temporary stimulus. Then reality, the Standard of Living goes down all those that are taxed and inflated upon the most. Poor become poorer, less of a middle class, and the wealthy buy off government for 'write-offs' to avoid paying the increased taxes and inflation.

There's 3 primary things government always needs to continue the Pyramid CON GAME of statistical lying... and ever increasing of: population, taxes, and inflation. You are free to "Just Go Shopping", "Consume", "Have Babies", "Pay ALL your Taxes"!

Well, for starters, do these progressives actually consider this a good thing? Isn't the exact opposite what they want?
