The best thing that can happen is a responsible secular regime being set up by Egyptian military (without US involvement).

This would be the kiss of death for Saudi Royals, and also the Tehran regime.

Huh? The leaders of Iran are shiite and the Saudi royals are shia. What does one have to do with the other?

Because both are theocratic dictatorships, and if Egypt can show that some kind of freedom is possible, then of course it will spread.

Freedom wasn't possible in Egypt. They went from a dictator, to extremists to a junta, never achieving freedom.

Who is to say? A lot of people in Egypt want secular freedom, and perhaps the military will respect that. God knows that the Moslem brotherhood doesn't give a shit.

The entire House of Saud should be strung up from a tree...or if there are no trees in the desert they should be decapitated.

Egypt is in a dynamic state of change. Mubarak to military to Morsy to military has occurred in just a couple of years. Millions of Egyptians want a secular and free society.

Click on my name and see the thread that I posted on Egypt. Very informative and dovetails with this Saudi info.

Shi'ite is the same as Shia. Saudi Arabia is 90% Sunni.

The Saudis support the coup FWIW, I believe they actually said they would offset any lost aid from the US. The Saudis are scared shitless of the Muslim Brotherhood.

No...the majority of Iranians are Shia (same thing as Shiite), the vast majority of Saudis are Sunni, with the royal family and the powerful clerics being mainly of the Salafi and Wahhabi strains, which are very conservative and very pro-jihad. Assad in Syria is an Alawi which are an offshoot of Shi'a Islam. The Muslim Brotherhood are Sunni, but are very different from Salafi/Wahhabi Saudis.

And it gets more split than that because it was millions of Sunni Muslims, along with Coptic Christians, who demanded the Brotherhood be thrown out in Egypt.

Basically everyone in the Middle East hates each other. The only common factor is they all hate Israel but they're too busy hating each other to pose any threat to Israel.

And that's why Israel benefits from what's going on. "I want you and him should fight".

There is only one province in Saud with forests, Asir province , probably the only one I have never been in, it actually gets as much rain as Big Bend in Texas and some years as much as San Antonio .In case you need to know :) Oh, yeah , one travel tip , do not take any US $100's as all are deemed to be fake .

Egypt is in a dynamic state of change. Mubarak to military to Morsy to military has occurred in just a couple of years. Millions of Egyptians want a secular and free society.

And millions of Egyptians want sharia law. 74% of them to be exact.

http://www.pewforum.org/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-overview/

And as Ron Paul said the Muslim Brotherhood was democratically elected.

Egypt has 80 million people. You have tons of smart, educated people. But you have even more non educated who want sharia and the MB in power.

How do you get freedom out of this?

vita3

More like 28% want Sharia law.

Egyptians enjoy their tastes of Freedom.
