Dubious Chemical Weapons Attack In Syria Coincides With UN Visit (http://www.infowars.com/dubious-chemical-weapons-attack-in-syria-coincides-with-un-visit/)
Red line? Past evidence shows western-backed rebels were behind biological attacks

Infowars.com
August 21, 2013

Dubious claims that Bashar Al-Assad’s forces launched a massive chemical weapons attack near Damascus coincide with a team of UN investigators entering Syria and could provide the long awaited “red line” necessary to justify direct NATO military intervention.

The extent of the “evidence” behind such claims rests on a 22 second video that shows children being treated for apparent breathing difficulties.

The Assad government responded by slamming the reports as “false” and claiming they were aimed at distracting UN inspectors.

Charles Lister, an analyst at IHS Jane’s Terrorism and Insurgency Center, told the Jerusalem Post that the timing of such an attack raises eyebrows. “Logically, it would make little sense for the Syrian government to employ chemical agents at such a time, particularly given the relatively close proximity of the targeted towns (to the UN team),” he said.

Bets are that the Mercenaries (rebels) used them.. or a stockpile they had was hit.

They were found with them a couple times.

um. If these people were attacked with Chemical Warfare agents, why are the first responders not in some sort of PPE? Why are these people being treated indoors? Do they not know that they can become contaminated and casualties as well? Video shows people having water poured in their eyes indoors.

1300 killed? I can't imagine those type of casualty numbers from an attack unless it was massive.

Sarin -

Initial symptoms following exposure to sarin are a runny nose, tightness in the chest and constriction of the pupils. Soon after, the victim has difficulty breathing and experiences nausea and drooling. As the victim continues to lose control of bodily functions, the victim vomits, defecates and urinates. This phase is followed by twitching and jerking. Ultimately, the victim becomes comatose and suffocates in a series of convulsive spasms.

It is Non persistant, which means that it doesn't linger around on the ground for vary long and breaks up, so call me skeptical that something of this nature could kill so many.

..

In many of the smaller-scale attacks
across Syria, de Bretton-Gordon has said small quantities of Sarin, or far weaker organophosphate compounds, could have been to blame (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57575429/is-the-red-line-on-syrias-chemical-weapons-blurring/), and
it is feasible that poorly-trained rebel forces could have been behind such attacks.

"Sarin is 4,000-times more powerful than organophosphates," he explained, suggesting that if the toxic gas was used Wednesday on a large scale,
it was "very unlikely" that opposition fighters could have been behind the attacks,
as they "just don't have access to that level of chemical weapons and the delivery means" needed to disperse them so widely.

Sarin aerosolizes pretty readily, it doesn't have to be a fog like the Tokyo Subway attack, it can be an airburst that turns into a falling mist. Blow a cannister 5000 feet above a market in low winds and I can see 1300 pretty easily. The important point is that to do such a thing requires full intent. Those kind of numbers just aren't going to come from a conventional artillery shell hitting a GB cache.

I'd be less surprised to learn that the 'rebels' did it to the people to blame it on Assad and gin up world condemnation to encourage arms traffic than I would be to learn that Assad did it. Assad is a bloodthirsty bastard, but the level of strategic stupidity for him to do something like this is just off the charts. "hey, I'm winning, but I'd rather be losing, so..." Yeah, I doubt it. You don't climb to the Presidency of a country being that strategically stupid.

So if the damage assessment in the OP title is accurate, it sure as hell isn't from a GB cache getting shelled. Assad has everything to lose and nothing to gain by gassing people in Syria with Sarin, and the only way to get that kind of death toll is intentionally. The attack doesn't have the be huge, just well planned with specific intent. Logic and occam's razor leaves the rebels pulling a false flag to gin up world sympathy to draw more arms to themselves and make Russia cool off from backing Assad.

This is one of those rare moments when Occam's Razor points to a false flag. Even legitimate false flags usually end up on the wrong side of Occam's Razor. Tonkin, Northwoods, real, but not the simpler explanation of events. Something relatively unique is happening here.

I agree that it could cause lots of casualties, but 1300 deaths would be a massive scale. And it would be a very coordinated effort. Look at the numbers of total deaths during WW1 of chemical weapons compared to this. I think it's more likely that it could have caused 1300 casualties than deaths.

GB is no joke. Less than a single drop touching the skin will kill a healthy fit human. The Tokyo subway is a poor example because the delivery method was flawed, the material was homemade and of low quality, and it was set off in a confined, and more importantly sealed space. 13 people in the subway car died, some 6000 were exposed and got dreadfully sick. The difference between 13 dying and 6000 dying was a minor issue of the quality of the sarin gas. The people who got dosed got massively overdosed, and others were barely exposed because it went off in a sealed car. If you blow 2 liters of the stuff in an air-burst about 1000 feet in the air, depending on where the mist lands you are going to have massive massive casualties. 1300 people in an open air market is pretty typical in the middle east.

You take that stuff out of a subway car and put it in the open air, take it from underground and put it 1000 feet up, you have high quality GB instead bathtub gin, and they were lucky it wasn't 5000.

I know from whence I speak on this stuff.

At 100mg lethal dose per person, one quarter of a pound of Sarin will kill 1300 people if perfectly delivered. Make that one pound to be certain and there you go. What's that, something like a little less than a 2 liter soda bottle? Blow it up 1000 feet in the air and any person who gets touched by the stuff dies. 1300 is not far fetched at all. What was far fetched was how SMALL the Tokyo Subway death toll was. We learned later that the death toll was so small because they used homemade Sarin and blew it off inside a sealed subway car.

So figure, one 2 liter bottle of Sarin would (if perfectly delivered - an impossibility) kill 4800 to 5000 people. I don't think 1300 is a stretch, especially considering 1) the numbers are probably at least a little bit exaggerated, and 2) these folks are more likely to buy or acquire laboratory Sarin rather than cooking it up themselves. The only question is how was it delivered.

GB?

DOD designation for Sarin gas.

Sarin, or GB, is an organophosphorus compound with the formula [(CH3)2CHO]CH3P(O)F.
(Wikipedia)

I have to stop myself and type out "Sarin" because when I was trained about the stuff it was "GB"

as opposed to "CS" for tear gas.

From the pictures it appears this happened at night time. Kids in pajamas and night clothes. Is that probable? That if this was airbursted over an area that inside the homes would be compromised? I would think that it would dissipate enough that it wouldn't seep into every crack and crevice of the surrounding homes. Keep in mind I know next to nothing about Sarin and will not search for it online so I apologize in advance if I'm mistaken or ignorant on exactly how it acts. (it is a shame my research has been censored, but it is what it is)

To me it almost would seem that it was released at ground level. I don't buy Assad doing this for reasons you have pointed out and that there were already UN inspectors there. FSA either fucked up badly or released it to drum up support worldwide support for the coup.

Well, I don't know that we can make assumptions about the time of the attack, but the videos do look like nighttime. The stories seem to imply artillery delivery, but arty noise could mask one or more air bursts. The houses there are far more 'open air' than they are here, they are not really sealed like western construction. If multiple airburst shells went off, I could see it easily, or if they were groundburst shells you'd want a fog instead of a mist, same outcome but would require a little more...but OTOH would penetrate houses more readily.

GB is like bug spray for humans. In fact, that's EXACTLY what Sarin is, bug spray for humans. There are all kinds of different ways to deliver it. Fogging (like a bug bomb) misting (like a spray can) dusting (like carpet powder for fleas) pooling, hidden in food, water sources or bathing sources. Any way you can deliver bug chemicals you can deliver GB.

If it was late at night, given the open architecture of the homes there, a fogging may have been extremely effective.

Put it this way, I went to extensive chem-weapon training, because it usually falls to the intell guy to be the on-hand NBC expert for a squadron, and per the training I had, death tolls in the thousands are what you expect from a legitimate GB attack. The Tokyo Subway thing was weird precisely because that didn't happen. We know why that didn't happen in Tokyo now, but I suspect that it left a lot of people with the wrong impression of the power of Sarin gas. GB is some of the scariest shyt man has ever produced.
