DETROIT, MI -- U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Milford) would like to submit articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama, but lacks any evidence of crimes committed by the president, the Congressman told a crowd of supporters in a recorded discussion posted to YouTube.

The comments came near the end of a talk with a crowd of supporters in Birmingham.

Buzzfeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/gop-congressman-would-be-dream-come-true-to-submit-obama-imp)picked up the soundbite Tuesday.

“If I could write that bill and submit it... it would be a dream come true,” Bentivolio said after being asked whether or not he would try to spur an impeachment process.

“I feel your pain. I know. I stood twelve feet away from the guy and listened to him. And I couldn't stand being there, but because he is president, I have to respect the office. That’s my job, as a congressman. I respect the office."

The woman who asked the questions accused the president of violating the Constitution, but wasn't specific.
Bentivolio explained that he'd need solid evidence before he take such a step.

“Until we have evidence, you’re going to become a laughing stock if you’ve submitted a bill to impeach the president, because number one, you’ve got to convince the press,” he said. “And there are some people out there, no matter what Obama does, he’s still the greatest president they have ever had. That’s what you’re fighting.”

The full 32-minute video is below.

In it, Bentivolio discusses some of the inner workings of Congress and his desire to tackle government waste as a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

He also touts his Read the Bills Act (http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2013/05/detroit-area_congressman_intro.html), which he said could reach the House floor for a vote in September.

Hey Kerry. You are in Congress. You can write the bill and submit it aaaaaany tiiiime you like. That's the point of being in Congress. Walter Jones submitted an impeachment bill on War Powers in....2011? If that's what you want to do, just do it. What's stopping you, Boehner? There's your problem right there.

Rand Paul would NOT be "next in line" - in fact, he isn't even IN the line ...
