This is what happens when you compromise.

"oh we can ban free speech cause of this"

"ohh, its not a problem to at least put a few rules on owning guns"

Its all fucking tyranny with a different name!

I wanna see some blowback.

Massive amounts of funny NSA shirts, bumper stickers and clothing in so many places even the NSA can't handle it.

All of the people passing around all of the fear porn regarding NSA are actually far more dangerous to Free Speech than NSA.

I know many here don't want to hear that but it's true.

Ben started to get into important and relevant aspects regarding web sites.

What we don't want is for people to start closing some good web sites based upon fear. Which is where this is headed.

The flipside is that some folks may very well want this scenario to work out like this and because of already existing discourse for speech on the www and so they help generate the fear mongering. Others simply don't fully comprehend how other countries operate and so don't really understand how to separate the fairy tales from reality.

Most here knew what the Patriot Act and Homeland Security Act would bring.

Transparency regarding NSA practices could use some work though.

I don't think any of the stuff they grinded off in that picture could actually store data without being powered up. LOL maybe the BIOS chip and a couple EEPROMs.

Youre right. We should let the ignorant just go back to sleep. Nothing to see here people, move along. NSA only protects people from the terrible things they could do with freedom. Oh and we should outlaw free speech because speaking out against the NSA hurts the security of the ignorant.

The ignorant neither have nor deserve their security.

If they do start closing websites, it will be used to attack Free Speech. And they will do it via underhanded methods such as claiming copyright trumps parody, which as Ben explained, it does not. They are going to come after your ability to speak freely one way or another. Eventually the ARE going to take it away, and it will be done so with the purpose of silencing people like us and people like Ben Swann and even people like Ron Paul. All to support the Status Quo. Speaking out against Banks will also be considered a crime. Do not question authority, and do not tell others that you can not trust the authority that is currently in power.

The 2nd Amendment protects the Rights of the People to bear arms so that the Govt fears pissing off too many people. It is an advocation of violence if necessary. But there is one amendment that comes before the 2nd Amendment. But who is the enemy? How to we define the enemy? We communicate.

There is a reason that the Freedom of Speech is protected under your very FIRST Amendment.

I've developed paranoia lately over what the NSA could be doing besides spying. Nobody should fear owning a website that outs the tyrants but they should fear the feds hacking websites or computers to install things that could incriminate them. Recently people from We Are Change and OathKeepers had child porn emailed to them in hopes they would open the attachments and have it installed on their computer. It's not outside the realm of speculating that the NSA could get this done to websites.

Rolling over and dying is what they want us to do. I for one refuse to give them the satisfaction. I will not cower into that great night when all of history hangs on this moment. When children ask us 50 years from now where we were when the monster was unmasked, I will not tell them that I was skulking in a corner afraid to speak out, I will tell them that I stood upon the mountaintop and shouted at the top of my lungs! We owe our past and our posterity nothing less. We owe Ron Paul nothing less.

So to be clear, McCall was using the NSA logo, the NSA claimed copyright infringement and Zazzle.com pulled the content down.
No, it's not clear. Based on what was provided as the statement content from Zazzle.com to Dan McCall, it did not specify who the claimant was. It seems like Ben Swann is assuming that the NSA is the claimant. Maybe it is the NSA, or maybe it could just be a different author. It could be one of these:

I'm not saying they have a legitimate copyright claim on that, I'm just pointing out how there are other authors out there.

Seems like Ben Swann neglected to either contact Zazzle.com to ask who the claimant who lodged the complaint was, or to present proof that it was the NSA who lodged the complaint by showing an official letter from the NSA with official letterhead, or whatever serves that purpose, in this spiel. Furthermore, if it was just a different author, Ben Swann has also not provided information showing that he checked into the claim to see if there is an author who does have a legitimate claim by, for example, looking up the copyright claim or other evidence that supports it.

Is Ben Swann incompetent, is he a fearmonger, or is he something else?

For real?

I really am seriously skeptical. It's a matter of principle if nothing else. All I'm saying is "show me" (the proof).

Your theory sounds really implausible.
I have a theory? What are you talking about? What is this theory I supposedly have & where did you get it from? Do you even know what a theory is? Do you know what implausible means? Perhaps you have definitions for those words that I'm not familiar with, in which case, please tell me what they are.

Or, perhaps you have it backwards; it's Ben Swann who has a theory (if an assumption even qualifies as one), not me. I'm the one who isn't buying his story, because the claim lacks evidence to support it. I'm not the one with the burden of proof; he is. Ben Swann's credibility is in question, here; not mine. If he presents a document sent to Zazzle.com by the NSA with a cease and desist order or something like that, or explains why he thinks that it has to be the NSA and cannot be someone else, then that's fine.

The shirt is still available on Cafepress: http://www.cafepress.com/libertymaniacs/10128143

The owner of Liberty Maniacs who designed and sells the shirt was interviewed on Free Talk Live tonight for the first 20 minutes: https://soundcloud.com/freetalklive/ftl2013-10-16

He said he will continue selling the shirt despite the NSA's threats.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I have little doubt that Ron Paul Forum members make the list.
