"New revelations about Ministerial orders requiring backdoors into online services in New Zealand are fueling nationwide protests (http://www.zdnet.com/new-disclosures-heat-surveillance-law-row-7000019535/) against new surveillance powers to be granted to the Government Communications Services Bureau. Speaking at one large protest meeting, Kim Dotcom described the 'Five Eyes' X-Keyscore surveillance system as 'Google for spies'. He told protesters he first noticed he was being spied on when his internet speed slowed by '20 to 30 milliseconds'. 'As a gamer, I noticed,' he said."

Where are our Protests? Oh yeah, the US sheeple dont give a shit. Point is, it isnt just the US that is becoming a Tyrannical Govt.

sheeple thinking -
2013 NSA spying on cellphone metadata - sheeple rationalization - "but they are not listening to our calls
2014 NSA spying on call content - "but they are not arresting anyone"
2015 Govt arresting dissidents - "but they are not killing anyone, and keeping us safe from those crazy liberty people"
........

I thought this thread summed up thinking of sheeple pretty damn well:

This. Has. Pissed. Me. Off.

Seriously.

NZ was cruising along pretty happily. This is pretty obviously retroactive ass covering. Probably worried that Snowden can prove NZ is involved.

Well, it passed despite the protests. Politicians dont listen to anyone anywhere.

New Zealand Parliament Votes To Extend Spying Powers

"Amid protests and much opposition New Zealand parliament has just passed a bill which allows the The Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) greater spying powers."

THeres a couple embedded links in that quote on the source.
