this force is pretty miserable when it comes to use of force, etc. like most and has been through federal investigations and more (see WTO, murdered whittler, samurai, etc.).

I really hope this changes the overall attitude of these guys.

Feel good story of the day. I bet the police officers enjoyed it as much as the crowd. Hilarious they tweeted it as OperationOrangeFingers.

This was full of win. Congrats to WA State....proud to be a resident today.

They put a label on a bag of fat?!?! They must really be coming around. They should have had an apology section: "To all of you who we arrested, beat, and or imprisoned for a victimless crime, we are sorry."

When I first read about it I was happy, then those damn thoughts started up again.

I was equally pessimistic about the whole thing. A few names in stone can't be risen by a cleverly labeled Doritos giveaway. (that's aside from those whose lives were ruined)

Probably not healthy. In any case, RIP John Williams.

Idiots. With all those stoners around, they could have sold those little bags for $2 each and made a little money to feed the machine.

Where was all the looting, rioting and mass murders that the Nixon and Reagan adminstration warned us about?

No. I'm still a cynic with regards to the military police state. But, damn, I honestly never thought I would see this in my lifetime.

Yeah, considering they probably charged the tax payer 15$ per bag they made their money on the face of the deal.

The project was funded by the privately run Seattle Police Foundation.

All funds are fungible. Maybe they should have put that money aside for the next excessive force loss.

That reminds me of a pamphlet I was reading in Amsterdam back in 2000. (The details on that trip are sketchy, but I remember the pamphlet.)

It was quite clear about not peeing in the streets and staying the hell out of the canals, but there was advice for what to do if you get too high.
It also said something very close to "If someone is trying to sell you something you don't want, or if you have an argument with a prostitute, please come to the police. You will not surprise or embarrass us. We know why you're here."

I think I heard they spent $260 on the 1000 1oz bags. I'm really not wasting my time worrying about where $260 came from.

I waited a day before asking because I did not want to crush anyone's buzz, but

what is the status of people who were imprisoned in Washington for drug violations before the law changed?
