Here's the idea, in one hour getting at least 40,000 people to donate about $25 on November 30th. If that can be done it would net $1 million in one hour, which would put the campaign well on its way to $12 million. However, there's no reason to stop there.

There are 106,804 donors as of 9:53 P.M. EST. If all of them could pull together $25 to donate that would be over $2.67 million in one hour.

There are 76,237 meetup members. If they could manage $25 it would be $1.9 million in one hour.

This would be a great way to get people who are reluctant about donating November 30th to donate and still leave plenty of funds for December 16th as well.

However, it would require an incredible amount of coordination to get the right time for the maximum amount of donors.

This would also provide the ultimate server test before December 16th.

106,804 donors in one hour and $2.67 million in one hour would be equivalent to 2.56 million donors and $64 million in a day.

76,237 donors and $1.9 million would be equivalent to 1.83 million donors and $45.6 million in one day.

40,000 donors and $1 million would equivalent to 960,000 donors and $24 million in one hour.

If the server can handle that then there could be no doubt about their ability to handle December 16th.

This would be a great time for the grassroots to show that Ron Paul's support is not only real, it isn't simply random people on the Internet, but a coordinated effort. The media will say, "Imagine the level of coordination and cooperation of his supporters to pull off such a feat with so many people!" and be shocked beyond all reckoning. Not to mention it would help put Paul over the $12 million mark better than anything else.

As I've stated previously, I'm on board with this. Have you checked with the good people at www.ronpaulmoneybomb.com to coordinate a time?

Sounds good to me too! I also think that it'll be easier to get people to donate $25 since it's a much smaller amount.

I think one of the reasons the number of contributors far exceeded the number of pledges on Nov. 5th was because as it was happening, word spread in the blogosphere (and the internet in general) and people who hadn't previously heard about it joined in. To make that happen again, it needs to be a success right from the start to get some early momentum. For that reason, I think the 1hr money bomb should be in the morning. The 1hr total won't be as impressive, but I think it will increase the total for the day. The momentum effect might be more critical for Nov. 30th than it was on Nov. 5th since fewer people know about Nov. 30th.

A word of caution, by throwing out "$25," you could negatively influence those who might be inclined to give more than $25.

PLEASE don't wait for a later time in the day. Success breeds success, as the snowball builds.

It's a possibility. But if I saw a mass donation going on, and if I had the funds, I'd put in more than my fair share...but that's just me! :D

I would say, everybody who is not intending to make a donation November 30th, throw in $25, or even $10. We can leverage our huge number of supporters into $2 million or more.

This is kind of coming in at the grinder, but I thinks this definitely should be implemented as it is the best way to draw supporters to reach $12 million. There needs to be a poll put up and everyone should contact their meetups or anyone they know who could donate on this day and figure out a time that works.

This will enable us to not only beat the goal on November 30th, but exceed it and set us on the way to record fourth quarter fundraising and beat out all the other candidates, solidifying Ron Paul's frontrunner status.

Nov 30th is a weekday though, so I'd suggest after people get out of work. :)

I hereby propose 8-9pm EST, which would be 5-6pm PST.

Not too early, not too late, everyone is out of work.

Two more days folks, what's the word??

I put up a page on the Grassroots Central for a poll to agree on a time. Hopefully there'll be some support or movement. I've e-mailed a few people, but it just doesn't seem like people are biting.

With this little time, someone just has to name the time. We need ALL the time for publicity.

I suggest:

5-6pm Pacific
6-7pm Mountain
8-9pm Central
8-9pm Eastern

Another thread suggests between 7-8PM EST (4PM PST), which works out best methinks.

That's the time frame I'm using anyway.

Yep 7 to 8 P.M. EST, that way if it catches fire and a lot of people start donating at that time people who can't donate that early will see it and hopefully donate more than they would have to help meet $12 million.

of course, it's probably just because you use words like 7-8pm and consider that 'early' :) . sounds like it's official... after all it's in writing ;)

Naraku

Well, It's unlikely November 30th will be in the news early so I doubt this would be in it early, assuming it does get into the news. I'm not sure how much support there will be for this. Hopefully enough people know about it and can do it so it can actually be successful.

We're doing great, and our evening spike is still on its way. I'm trying to scrape together another donation to supplement my 3:30am donation.
