there is a parish in louisiana that changed its fines so that 1 mile over is the same as 10 miles over.
so you might as well drive 10 miles over the limit.

I know of towns that will pull you over for one mile over the speed limit. They use it as an excuse to try and find people driving "under the influence." It's their main source of revenue. They usually let you off with a warning. [because they are so nice]

School zones will get you caught up as well.

Going 8 miles over the speed limit will get you a ticket. I don't care where you are. I doubt Zimmerman was even going that fast. Out of state plates and a few MPHs over and you are going to be stopped.. at the least to be fucked with. Note how he was let go with a warning.

They 'can', but anyone who's been an officer knows that radars can be off by +/- 1 MPH when logged into the calibration record.

Furthermore, in any speeding case that you wish to contest, all you have to do is ask the court to examine the radar calibration log... if the officer didn't complete the log, the ticket will be thrown out.
