In 80 years, will more people recognize the name "Greenwald" or "Woodward and Bernstein" ? The guy is awesome. I can't help but wish, just a little bit, that he had been able to include this info in his original article. It probably would have gotten a lot of attention, and now it's going to be a bit of an addendum. Of course, we suspected everything in this article already, but nice to have it confirmed.

Confirms what Snowden said he could do.

Analysts can also use XKeyscore and other NSA systems to obtain ongoing "real-time" interception of an individual's internet activity.

Under US law, the NSA is required to obtain an individualized Fisa warrant only if the target of their surveillance is a 'US person', though no such warrant is required for intercepting the communications of Americans with foreign targets. But XKeyscore provides the technological capability, if not the legal authority, to target even US persons for extensive electronic surveillance without a warrant provided that some identifying information, such as their email or IP address, is known to the analyst.

One thing to note on this slide is what resides in the database of collected material.

There are "metadata" tables, as so many politicians have claimed is all that is being captured and stored, but what is right there with it? "Full log". Obviously, metadata is just a subset of the data. Everything is being stored, and is accessible.

TrackMeNot (TMN) is a Firefox browser add-on which tries to prevent search engines like Ask, Bing, Yahoo! and Google profiling you by making random queries (obfuscation) so that the search engine software couldn’t create and maintain a meaningful profile of your online search patterns. You can choose among the major the search engines TMN queries, and

by specifying an RSS Feed

as query input source you can gain some degree of control what the actual search terms will be.

I like to keep mine cycling through rss feeds of gay midget porn, voodoo and satanism, justin beiber's personal rss, a jehovahs witness feed mixed in for the ultimate annoyance. You have to switch it up and keep them on their toes. Next month might be blood and gore or maybe I can find an RSS about radiation mutated babies. The month I did extreme anal was interesting; looking back on "my" search queries, I had no idea you could do that with a champagne bottle.

If you can't beat 'em... be sure to fuck with them.

I can't find the article right now but apparently this Xkeyscore program looks and operates VERY similarly to Facebook's search feature. I don't mess with FB so I can't verify that.

The files shed light on one of Snowden's most controversial statements, made in his first video interview published by the Guardian on June 10.

"I, sitting at my desk," said Snowden, could "wiretap anyone, from you or your accountant, to a federal judge or even the president, if I had a personal email".

US officials vehemently denied this specific claim. Mike Rogers, the Republican chairman of the House intelligence committee, said of Snowden's assertion: "He's lying. It's impossible for him to do what he was saying he could do."

I saw with my own eyes back in the 90's that FBI wiretapping analysts could punch in a phone number on their computer terminal and instantly intercept all communications on that landline without oversight. Only thing that really mattered was whether the intercept would jeopardize a court case. Stands to reason the same principle is now at work in the digital age.

Press Statement on 30 July 2013

As the IC and NSA have stated previously, the implication that NSA's collection is arbitrary and unconstrained is false. NSA's activities are focused and specifically deployed against - and only against - legitimate foreign intelligence targets in response to requirements that our leaders need for information necessary to protect our nation and its interest. Public release of this classified material about NSA collection systems, without context, does nothing more than jeopardize sources and methods, and further confuse a very important issue for the country. Although it is impossible to provide full details of classified programs and still have them remain effective, we offer the following points for clarification:

XKEYSCORE is used as part of NSA's lawful foreign signals intelligence collection system. By the nature of NSA's mission, which is the collection of foreign intelligence, all of our analytic tools are aimed at information we collect pursuant to lawful authority to respond to foreign intelligence requirements - nothing more.

Allegations of widespread, unchecked analyst access to NSA collection data are simply not true. Access to XKEYSCORE, as well as all of NSA's analytic tools, is limited to only those personnel who require access for their assigned tasks. Those personnel must complete appropriate training prior to being granted such access - training which must be repeated on a regular basis. This training not only covers the mechanics of the tool but also each analyst's ethical and legal obligations. In addition, there are multiple technical, manual and supervisory checks and balances within the system to prevent deliberate misuse from occurring.

Our tools have stringent oversight and compliance mechanisms built in at several levels. One feature is the system's ability to limit what an analyst can do with a tool, based on the source of the collection and each analyst's defined responsibilities. Not every analyst can perform every function, and no analyst can operate freely. Every search by an NSA analyst is fully auditable, to ensure that they are proper and within the law.

These types of programs allow us to collect the information that enables us to perform our missions successfully - to defend the nation and to protect US and allied troops abroad. (For example, as of 2008, there were over 300 terrorists captured using intelligence generated from XKEYSCORE.)

Continuous and selective revelations of specific techniques and tools used by NSA to pursue legitimate foreign intelligence targets is detrimental to the national security of the United States and our allies, and places at risk those we are sworn to protect - our citizens, our war fighters, and our allies.

Pelosi is worth 58 Million

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Pelosi#Allegations_of_insider_trading

Allegations of insider trading

In November 2011, 60 Minutes alleged that Pelosi and several other member of Congress had used information they gleaned from closed sessions to make money on the stock market. The program cited Pelosi's purchases of Visa stock while a bill that would limit credit card fees was in the House. Pelosi denied the allegations and called the report "a right-wing smear."[38] When the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (or STOCK Act) was introduced the next year, Pelosi voted for the bill and lauded its passing. Of Representatives Louise Slaughter and Tim Walz, who drafted the bill, Pelosi said they "shined a light on a gaping hole in our ethics laws and helped close it once and for all." [39]

Feinstein (chair of the Intel committee) is worth 99 Million. She was worth 26 Million in 2003.

The system is used and abused under the fraud of a paranoia empire that trusts no one, and looks at it's own citizens as the enemy, with the exception of a gravy train of cash from the fruits of their labors, to serve the elitist partnership of tyranny and terror.

All these political insider traders, need to go to prison, the Fraud, abuse of power, racketeering, insider trading, conspiring, theft... they're all liars! If anyone should be held to the highest standards of the rule of law, it should be Federal politicians and employees. Notice how these assholes in Washington DC, pass laws to protect themselves in which, 'if an American Serf/Mundane commits a crime against a government employee, it's TWICE the penalty! Yet those criminals of Capital Hill & White House, constantly violate the laws they enacted, are held to the lowest standards, and pretty much are given immunity at all levels.

That's UNCONSTITUTIONAL, yet no one(except a few patriots) challenges these lying scumbag tyrants. Ahh... maybe it's because the Judicial system is just as corrupt, protecting government, it's agencies. and employees, that's on top of other government garbage in "Rubber-Stamping Warrants/Signing Letters/et al" on Americans.. we also see daily, courts ruling in favor of government over the U.S. Constitution which is the biggest lie of all on the people. Black robed Judges squelching attorneys and Americans free speech and evidence.

You want to violate the Constitution, then go ahead Washington DC, get a new amendment ratified in the legal process and added to the Constitution, but from these spineless slimeballs continuing to pass laws violating the Americans rights and the Constitution with a simple insider majority by criminal politicians, is the biggest crime of all.

We all know today's illusion on due process(Heir Holder's Judicial Process vs. Due Process)... THERE IS NO RULE OF LAW IN AMERICA

You have OWNERS... they OWN YOU!

hmmm.... This rabbit hole is getting deeper...

and who else has access to these systems?

Pelosi is worth $58 Million
