View Full Version : Best Site/Source for Liberty Related Links and News Around the World?

I have been a long time user of the dailypaul and thought it was a decent resource for seeing user posted news from all over the place. I liked that when John Stewart said X, or the NYT said Y, etc etc, someone would post a link and it would be on the front page for me to check out. For whatever reason, I have found myself more and more annoyed with the DP site and a much smaller % of posted links are of any interest to me.

So my question is whether you guys recommend anything else that provides a similar platform with content that you like? Don't get me wrong, I think the forums here are great, but what I am looking for isn't something better, just different. Any thoughts on best sites to visit to get a summary of the latest liberty news, video clips, or liberty mentions throughout the media world? I'm interested in a site that links to liberty news from a ton of different sources rather than simply a libertarian news source (maybe like reason) because I always find it nice to be able to send links to non liberty minded friends and family from sources they are used to.

As a total aside, any favorite liberty minded podcasts that you like? I'm not interested in the more conspiratorial discussions and rather prefer intellectual discussions on the proper role of government.

It's no where near "the best", but I did throw a page together with some links to liberty sites / info that also pulls some RSS feeds in. Maybe you will find it of interest:

Ron Paul Forums.

Don't get me wrong, I think this site is excellent, but as in my example, say the NYT publishes a pro liberty article or RP is on the daily show or whatever else, I want to be able to go somewhere where I can see that it happened very easily by just going to the page and browsing for 60 seconds. This forum is great for a more in depth look, but I am hoping to find something easier to browse on my phone when out etc when I really don't have much time to get deeper to find links. The DailyPaul was really serving this purpose but since the election I have found myself disliking it more and more and less of it's content appeals to me.

drudgereport.com ???
LOL This explains quite a lot, if you consider drudge a beacon for liberty oriented news.

I didn't say that. Can you advise what places you like for what I'm looking for?

Have you tried using the new posts button here, much more efficient than browsing by sections.

The freshest and most dicussed topics are all there, without having to check all the seperate forums here.

Since you're asking I might as well recommend a blog started by a young but determined 14yo I introduced to libertarianism a few years ago. He's already written several insightful articles that may shed some light on current events.

Before you write him off, I just wanted to note that he's is a prodigy and writes better than the average college student. Check it out here: http://letterofliberty.blogspot.com/
