Ditto.

My favorite line is, "We're not from around here." Hubby got that on Black Friday. He chased a woman saying he's running for US president, and said to her, "Are you not from the US?" She just kept walking.

:rolleyes::)

One person asked me if I was Ron Paul before they had seen the slim jim (i'm 21) then they followed that question up after seeing a picture of Ron by asking if I was his son. I've also been asked if I was his son by someone else as well.

And yes I get the we aren't from around here response a lot too

Yes I've been asked that a few times and when we're out with our signs downtown we usually get about 3-4 people every hour that come by and say "RU-Paul!!!" like they invented it. Lame!

"Are you Ron Paul?"

I'm not in the states right now but I don't understand that at all.

Is it some sort of a joke?

People don't think that someone would support a candidate so much that they would be out campaigning and voluteering for them. They think either YOU ARE the candidate, or you're a paid worker of the committee. ;) Americans are a very distrusting people when it comes to politics.

never been asked if I am Ron, but my mom has been asked numerous times if she is his campaign manager - and my wife and I have both been asked if we're "with the campaign" - I agree that people just can't fathom that people would be willing to campaign for a candidate completely on their own....
But when they realize it, it sure seems to intrigue a lot of people....

Watch out for the word "RuPaul". Don't want our guy getting confused with the transvestite.

I was in Whole Foods and the guy behind the deli counter looked at the Ron Paul button I was wearing, so I pointed to it and said "Ron Paul". And then he pointed to himself and said "Tony Devito". :rolleyes:

I got that a lot when a group of us put a Ron Paul float in the homecoming parade at the local University. I guess I was the oldest looking guy in the group or something. The second most common question was "President of what?"
