Breaking:House just passed, by voice vote, an amend that would prohibit funds for military action in Syria without Congressional Approval

According to the source Frank Thorp V. Sorry for the title.

I find it strange they would have had to do that, considering, congress has to be involved in any declaration of war. Wouldn't military action in Syria require a declaration of war?

And somebody should have been impeached!

It didn't need any approval from Bill when he invaded Kosovo, Bosnia.

Just look at all of the presidents that should have been impeached. Every time one of them does this, the next one thinks that sets a precedence for them to do the same thing.

How do they do these military actions? Where does the money come from? Is congress just dumping a bunch of money in the DOD's lap and expecting them to spend it wisely?

Of course they did. The military-industrial complex is extremely predictable. If you want to know how and why it works and why elections and protests aren't going to stop it, watch the excellent film Why We Fight.

In Libya, Obama felt the approval of the Arab League and NATO sufficed. Not even giving Congress a token consultation, he was brazen enough to declare that "merely" dropping bombs on people wasn't waging war.

I am sure if this was Congress they would voted agaisnt it, hopefully this time will on Syria. The house is already calling Moscow a more hostile.

Yeah, when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, it wasn't an act of war either.
