Romney says that "suggesting that we have to fill spots based on checking off boxes of various ethnic groups is really a very inappropriate way to think about how we staff positions."
Fair enough.
However:
In an interview, when asked if he would "include qualified Americans of the Islamic faith in his cabinet," Romney responds "based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified."
So, just because they do not make up a large enough percentage of our population, even qualified individuals who happen to be Muslim should not have the opportunity to be assigned to a post in Romney's administration?
