I think the problem is that people associate Journalism and Media with each other.

In a normal world, I think this would be true. But when we have a completely Facist Govt, we need to recognize that the two words are no longer synonyomous. Media doesnt necessarily mean Journalism, and Journalism doesnt necessarily mean Media. Media can include (but obviously no longer does) Jouralism, Entertainment, and Advertising. Since Media is no longer there to tell us the truth of what is really important, Media has become just Entertainment and Advertising.

Journalism on the other hand usually excludes Entertainment and Advertising. Journalism itself is NOT media, but it is distributed by Media. A person can write a story, an original copy. But without Media, what was written is not by itself able to be distributed amongst the People. Think of a Journalist as just writing Journals, or maybe a Diary about the events of the day. Without a method of mass distribution, what was written will remain only as a Journal, and not become a source of information for People. When it is distributed, the Journal becomes a source of New Information for People. Usually the Journal will include Multiple Events. Thus, the Plural form of New becomes News. And this typically is what we've established to be Journalism. To write a Journal is just to record the information. But to record and distribute the information becomes Journalism.

The distribution of Journals also costs money. Either by charging a reader directly, or supplementing the costs by way of Advertisements. The Advertisements have influence over the content of the Journals distributed (or News), where the News becomes censored to exclude any negative News about the actions of the Advertiser. The more Advertisers, the more Self Censorship of the Journals distributed. This is what we call the Main Stream Media. The MSM caters so heavily to their Advertisers that all of the Information (or their version of the News) is completely Censored.

Censorship in Journalism causes the information in the Journals to exclude facts. The exclusion of these facts causes Bias. True Journalism usually also excludes Bias because it does not cater to the Advertisers. Media News typically always contains very heavy levels of Bias, and nearly always excludes truly important events. This is why the Media doesnt really do any form of true Journalism. This is where Media twists its purpose to become Main Stream Media. The MSM tells you what their Advertisers and Owners want you to hear. And people go for it because they can get access without cost directly to the reader / viewer because the costs are offset by Advertising. But that Advertising causes Censorship of Real Information and Real Jouralism, which is what becomes the Main Stream Media.

The internet has become a major tool because it allows the Journalists to record and distribute their Journals without censorship by catering to Advertisers because there is nearly no cost with the distribution of the Content. Journals can be published and people have free access to uncensored unbiased News. The only thing that holds these sources of information back is Peoples knowledge of where to consistently get access to the unbiased information. Unfortuantely this is not always consistent due to the Jouralist not always being able to directly observe a situation. So todays news might be the best source of info, but tomorrow, just because the Jouralist cant be in every place at the same time, tomorrows source is speculation at best.

Journalism is alive, but no where nearly as well distributed as MSM.

Main Stream Media is quite alive, but nearly never has any truly relevant, important or unbiased information. The MSM is so well distributed that it has nearly completely displaced the true forms of Journalism. THe MSM has gotten quite lazy and rarely ever bothers to write their own stories. They usually take Information from other MSM centers and reword, then redistribute it. Companies like Reuters allow this by charging money for their Information to the smaller MSM outlets. But since no Journalist, Media, or MSM can be in all places at once, the Integrity of the Information fluxuates. Not reporting on something at all, or having nothing observed to report on will cost these outlets viewership. So they publish many speculations when they are not there to directly observe events. This is also a form of Censorship and Bias. Biased by Speculation and Censored by Advertisers.

We all know the MSM caters to their Advertisers in immense ways. Local News Stations (I use the term loosely here) will never report on how one of their Advertisers has screwed someone over, like a local car dealership. If they do report, the information about the advertiser has to be in the most extreme category. Owner of local car dealership goes on a shooting spree and kills many people. The owner would be damned by his own actions in that case. But the MSM does everything it can to prevent Trial By Media for its Advertisers. If an Advertiser could get away with committing some form of wrongdoing if the MSM does not report on it, then the MSM will value the money made from the Advertisements and Censor the News to omit the Advertisers wrongdoing. Which unfortunately makes sense. Advertiser goes out of business because the Media painted the Advertiser in a negative light, the Media loses money.

MSM avoids Trial By Media at all costs when it is in conflict with their Income.

Real Journalists will attempt to report the wrongdoings, but wont be as well distributed. MSM will Censor what they say to prevent losing an Advertiser. Journalists will report Unbiased Facts and allow the facts themselves to paint someone in a negative light. They dont need to put any form of spin on "Owner of local car dealership goes on shooting spree". Journalists dont have anything against Trial By Media, in fact, it is the very reason they exist. Real Journalists will report on Local Car Dealership screws women buyers by charging twice as much. These places that perform these immoral actions are then held accountable by the Public in a Trial By Media by not supporting that Business / Individual. The immoral acts may not need to be Illegal or Unlawful, just Immoral. And Journalists reporting on major Immoral Actions is one thing that keeps the Immoral Actions from being committed in the first place.

When Immoral Actions can be committed with No Accountability to the People, those that commit the Immoral Actions have the ability to continue committing their Immoral Actions. They can actually get away with worse and worse until the Immoral Actions become Unlawful and Illegal. If the MSM refuses to report on any of those actions, there is zero Public Accountability.

Those in Govt look at those who commit the biggest Immoral Acts in a different fashion. They usually own the Govt Officials, who conveniently look the other way. Govt has also placed itself above all others by only allowing the People to hold the Govt Accountable with the Permission of the Govt. This is the Fox watching the Henhouse. This also shows the Fallacy that Govt holds Criminals Accountable. The ones that commit the Immoral / Unlawful / Illegal actions control the Govt by influencing who ends up in that Govt position, of course, based on whether or not a Govt employee will do anything about the Immoral Actions. MSM will remain quiet of course because exposing a Corrput Individual in Govt would result in also exposing one of their precious Advertisers.

Journalism is alive, but not as well distributed.

MSM is alive because they are sponsored by the very people that commit the most profitable Immoral Actions.

The MSM is the Mouthpiece of Criminals which gives Criminals Unaccountable Authority over the People, Media, and Govt.

Combining Govt and Religion causes the corruption of both. Same thing happens with Journalism and Advertising. Left alone, they can be very useful, but the combination of the two corrupts their purpose.

And, of course, the corporations give huge amounts of money to their pet candidates specifically so they can advertise. And, as soon as they do, they become the 'Advertisers' and the Ron Pauls and other candidates who wish to represent the people rather than the corporations are not their 'Advertisers'. So, the media mouthpieces that pass for 'journalism' will never fairly compare these two candidates, and the independent and vigorous press which Thomas Jefferson considered an indispensible part of a healthy republic can't get itself heard over the noise.

No wonder we lost our republic...
