No, but they likely turned this into a media circus to distract from everything else.

The legal people knew they never had a case. Can't see how they would get very excited about this prosecution. It was purely political theater.

there was so much to gain for the left by exploiting this mostly insignificant story that it was clearly orchestrated for political gain and media exploitation. race-baiting, public opinion manipulation, gun control, etc. the MSM, working at the request of the administration, together with civil rights leaders for maximum effect and distraction. it's all there folks...glad it kinda blew up in their faces.
