Well, at least he didn't shoot an innocent bystander (though that has happened). I just wonder if the dog made it.

I got charged by a neighbor's dog yesterday, didn't shoot it, and somehow survived (I don't have qualified immunity to fire away every time I feel "threatened", and it wouldn't be an "oopsie" and paid vacay if I hit a bystander).

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A St. Louis police officer suffered a minor gun shot injury Thursday after being accidentally shot by his partner.

:pAccording to the St. Louis Police, the on-duty officer’s partner was shooting at an aggressive dog when the bullet ricocheted and hit him in the ear and arm.

No, I'm even sicker -- I was disappointed that the officer only received minor injuries.

Then it might have been a learning experience for them maybe -- you know, like maybe it's better to try other options when other people are nearby? Even when it's just those lowly civilians.

Instead of consequences, since the officer was treated and released I'm sure there was hilarity and high fives all around at the station afterwards over this little "oopsie."

The comments here are interesting -- it seems like a lot of people "get it" and are starting to learn that the cops aren't so wonderful. Though too many are too concerned with the bad marksmanship, and less concerned with the stupidity of shooting at a dog because it "looks aggressive." Now if everyone could go from complaining in comments online to actually doing something to get more of these taxwasting LEOs off the streets ...

It's about time one of these taxpayer abusing thugs shot one of their own instead of some by-stander. I needed a good laugh today.

Aggressive looking dog? It's a dog with teeth. Scarey. I think we are hiring idiots as officers. Good for the dog. Also a little happy that the idiot shot his partner. It was not life threatening but it might make him consider other options when a dog is around. Like pull up his big girl panties and quit crying.

And one who's obviously a pig (if not a troll) :

Next time aim for the dog's face. I recently had to kill a very vicious pit bull. It felt good. I hope I get to take care of the owner next-I hope I don't violate his civil rights.
