I didnt want to link to dailykos so here is the transcript.

Hi I'm Chris Dodd. I'm from East Haddam, Connecticut and my family and I are spending a little time in Iowa these days.

I have a question about the Constitution.

Many Americans are concerned that the administration seems to be making a false choice, that is, to be safer we have to give up rights. I don't believe that, I wonder if you do.

And if you believe that we ought not give up our rights, then what would you do in order to protect our Constitution?

It is on youtube as well....I will try to post a link.

Is this up RP`s alley or what??

Dont know but I sure know what RP would do and if this question ever sees the light of day at the debate, the rest of America will see the clear distinction between RP and the others:p

How much has Chris Dodd done in order to protect it?

He voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act and voted for the Iraq war.

So Dodd's statement that
"...to be safer we have to give up rights. I don't believe that"
is a joke.

I really hope they use this. It will clearly show America how these other candidates are selling us out.

All RP has to do is bring up the very same points you are making right here.

As we all have seen too many times before, the moderators will only give RP the stupid "snowman" type youtube questions:mad:

Dodd is just trying to get some of the same support Paul has for the constitution. We all know he doesn't have 1/10th the record of Paul on protecting the constitution. This is a media and public relations ploy designed to make it look like he's a real constitutionalist.

Chris Dodd said at the last debate that security was more important than civil rights .......

are you referring to his answer to the question whether our security is more important than civil rights in some other country? this was posed in the context of us actively trying to overthrow undemocratic governments that pose relatively less threat to our security.

i actually agree with him on that. it's a very different question from whether in the US civil rights are more important than security.
