Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign impressed some, offended others and befuddled many more when it released Tuesday afternoon a cartoonish Auto-Tuned attack video taunting Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, who announced that she’ll challenge the Senator minority leader[...].\

Whether it will be successful or not remains to be seen, but it probably can’t hurt considering how loathed McConnell is. As for Benton, this is his first major foray outside of Paul World. He’s had a rocky relationship with Paul’s base at times, criticized for skimming too much money (http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2013/02/ron-paul-network-was-lucrative-for-jesse-benton.html) off the Paul network for himself, among other things. Last year, Anonymous released a video (http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2012/11/anonymous-reports-jesse-benton.html) saying it had a “leak that exposes Jesse Benton['s]…sabotage of the Ron Paul’s campaign during the Republican National Convention (RNC). Speculation Suggest that Jesse Benton was paid off handsomely for his services to sabotage the Ron Paul movement.” On a popular Ron Paul message board, one user responded to the video by saying it was old news: “I know everyone is sick to death about Jesse Benton’s betrayal of of Dr. Paul [sic].”

Which all raises the question of whether this is really just a warmup for Benton to work on Rand Paul’s 2016 presidential campaign, should such a campaign exist.

Think you'll be hard pressed to find a member here hasn't expressed concern about him and some are worried about '16.

Jesse Benton Shows His True Colors In McConnell Campaign Video
Submitted by Jao171 on Wed, 07/03/2013 daily paul

If you are jonesing for a wacky political advertisement during this time in the political cycle that is typical absent such insanity, then we have a special treat for you. Mitch McConnell’s Senate re-election campaign has released an incredibly weird campaign video attacking recently announced Senate candidate Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes (D).

This video is brought to you by none other than, Ron Paul’s former campaign manager, Jesse Benton. The video contains absolutely zero information of substance. It does not identify a single policy stance that separates McConnell and Grimes. In fact, the annoying background music, which is paired with a shrill voice singing the same question repeatedly and flashing neon words feels more like an attempt at brainwashing than anything else.

If you have the patience to watch the entire video, I tip my hat to you. The same line is repeated throughout, “What rhymes with Alison Lundergan Grimes?” This questioned is answered by the three phrases that are rotated on the screen.

- Sticks to Party line

- Not Ready for Prime time

- Left Wing Mime

Yeah, and the countless claims that he was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars was proven to be false numerous times. The very same BS claim was made during the 1st election too. It's also ludicrous, in my opinion, to believe that he sold out Ron Paul. For anyone to believe that, you must really believe Ron and Rand are dumb as dirt.

He was just a popular kicking post for everyone's frustrations with the media, the Republican Party establishment, and even, yes, some of Ron's actions.

There were lots of unfounded and malicious claims made about him, no doubt about that. Still, I hope Rand avoids him like the plague in 2016. That pudgy idiot hopefully burns the McConnell campaign to ground and never gets hired again.

Total garbage. Not even close to being worthy of a thread.

I don't moderate threads. If you all want to gesticulate through the forum your thoughts on Benton, again, and again, and again, go right on ahead.

Terrible video from a terrible political hack. It seems like he can make a political advertisement about as well as he can maintain a regular exercise routine.
