The show is now 7am EST, he still hasn't been shown, but has been announced several times. They announced him as "Up star candidate on the rise". Wow, that was a very polite intro. He may be coming up within next 15 minutes.

I am recording, just in case.

It was weird, I had just read an internet article by Faux News where they were tickled PINK to report on the pimp (Headline: Guess who's supporting Ron Paul? La-la-la-laaaa-laaaa)

Anyway, I clicked on the TV just to see if any news channel was talking about it and I heard Ron Paul's voice! And they were talking about the pimp. So weird.

I really do hope the campaign is having a meeting about Tucker today. And I hope they give a good talking-to to Tucker. RP sounded none too happy with his antics.

Gotta hate the Tucker. (Seinfeld reference....did anyone get that?)

I hope Ron gives Tucker a pretty stern talking to. I can't believe Tucker is actually that immature to not realize that this would lead to negative publicity. So, did someone pay him to put him up to it?? Anxious to hear more of the story.

As far as the interview, again Ron came off very well and explained his way out of the Bunny Ranch Endorsement like a Pro.

That was pretty rude of what's her name to ask when he was going to throw in the towel, I agree. Ron took it well, though and Joe did step in and downplay it. I like Joe and he always seems to treat Ron with respect. He pokes fun at us, but he seems like he does it in good humor.

I don't agree with the prior poster who said Mica's producer made her ask that question, that smirk on her face is the reason why I think it was her decision to pose such an ignorant (and disrespectful) question.

I didn't make that comment because I think Ron thinks less of them, I made it in my belief that he is very traditional and being on stage with a bunch of scantily clad women would be embarassing to him.

Come on we are no hypocritical neocons. Prostitutes are not less valuable human beings and each person has a right to live their life however it pleases them.

I don't think he was saying that prostitutes are any less human or that Ron Paul wouldn't support states' rights to legalize prostitution. Ron Paul is 72 years old and he's been married for fifty years -- it wouldn't surprise anyone if it made him uncomfortable to hang around bunch of prostitutes. Carol couldn't be there since she's had heart problems and was advised to stay home for a little while. How would you feel? How would you explain to your family why they saw a segment on Fox News that said their father/uncle/granddad was hanging out with prostitutes? If you can't understand how that'd unnerve him, I don't know what else to say.

Besides, we're talking about a man who is running for president. This is the kind of stuff that sinks campaigns.

I loved when Joe asked if his supporters were frustrated Republicans, and Ron said at the rally last night, he stayed and talked with any of the 400 supporters who came out to hear him speak, and he ASKED them what their political affiliation was...and that yes, many are frustrated Republicans, many are new and have never been involved in the political party process before, many consider themselves independent, some are Green party people, and some are democrats...

And the prostitute thing is good, in my opinion. It helps to encapsulate the whole message. According to Ron Paul, everyone's deserving of liberty, even a prostitute. While Ron Paul totally disagrees with the profession, he doesn't believe in using the arm of government to enforce on people's personal actions. This helps to sell the message (and particularly the drug war stance) to people who think drugs are bad.

GIMME THE GODDAMN YOUTUBE NOW

How many potential Ron Paul supporters just clicked their mice over to the Huckabee website?

I don't know. But If this is a Ron Paul sales tactic... It isn't a very good one. Please refrain from statements that you know will offend potential voters. Like " I wish one of you F-ing dumb ass Atheist pricks would post a youtube!" you see, that would not do well at garnering the atheist vote, now would it? ...yes, it may be funny at the moment, but not very good at getting votes.

just say something like this, "gosh, I wish the beav would hurry up and post the Youtube"...see how that doesn't offend any potential voter? Its easy.. really.. just give it a try.

It was funny and seemed very good-natured except for the one stupid question by the woman. Nice interview and friendly. I was watching this from work :o, and one of our secretarys was sitting behind me. When he answered "we're for freedom of religion, not endorsing any one religion in particular" the secretary said... "that was a good answer, he seem really interesting". She has now left my office with several slim jims to look at. :D

That was a setup question to allow Ron and Joe to point out that he's a legitimate candidate and dismiss the thought in the minds of the viewers that he has no chance. Its a play, and she's just playing her role in setting up the straw man. Notice how she spent the rest of the time abandoning that question and talking about how enthusiastic Ron's supporters are.

Finally got to see this, even though I had it recorded, couldn't find it:

Raw Story Video (http://rawstory.com/rawreplay/?p=138)

The funny thing is they set him up twice, Joe defended Dr. Paul each time and the second time they made fun of themselves for doing the setup. Also notice that they do keep in mind the wrath of supporters emails and bumper stickers they will get for dissing Dr. Paul. We're doing it people. Its working.

Overall I thought it was a very good interview. Really contrasted Dr. Paul's campaign against all the others and highlighted the fact that they aren't conservative enough. I think someone watching that interview will consider looking Dr. Paul up. So definetly a positive interview.

Back on topic, I thought the interview was great. RP has a really good rapport with journalists (and everybody else too of course) where he answers questions as they're asked so you never get that hostile showdown kind of situation where you have a journalist trying to hammer out an answer from a politician that you know is just going to change the subject and stonewall until the time runs out.

I thought the interview went great. It seems like Paul has a good rapport going with Joe, and I liked it when Joe basically told that woman off for asking Paul when he was going to throw in the towel. The conversation about the brothel isn't anything to be worried about either. Paul had a great answer to that.

Joe Scarborough LIKES Ron Paul! For all of the bashing of people in the media, he is one of the people that likes what Ron Paul says. Note how he has favorably compared his message to Ronald Reagan's several times now and mentioned how the other Republicans aren't "conservative" enough for a lot of Republicans. He may not like his foreign policy, but he loves his domestic policy. Joe Scarborough was a US congressman and very small government. From Wikipedia:

"Scarborough was one of a group of about 40 GOP freshmen legislators who dubbed themselves the "New Federalists" after the Federalist Papers. Scarborough was elected Political Director of the incoming legislators. The New Federalists called for sweeping cuts in the U.S. government, including plans to "privatize, localize, consolidate, [or] eliminate"[6] the Departments of Commerce, Education, Energy and Housing and Urban Development, but were largely unsuccessful in their goals. Gingrich tapped Scarborough to head a Republican task force on education, and Scarborough declared "Our goal is to get as much money, power and authority out of Washington and get as much money, power and authority into the classroom as possible."[2]"

Joe can't come out an endorse Ron Paul, but he sure has been friendly to him.

I hate all this question about "oh how do you use the internet tell us how you were able to get the internet behind you and will it translate to the real work?" EARTH TO THE MSM - REAL WORLD PEOPLE USE THE INTERNET. We use it to communicate because it is free and not controlled like the mainstream media. I love how the medialikes to act like they are just going about their business and are "surprised" that Ron Paul is doing well. No, they know very well he is popular and his support IS the only REAL WORLD grassroots of any campaign in this race! He is the only one so far whos support is guaranteed to translate to votes - the question is not will it translate, but will what we have in full force be enough? Yet the MSM keeps continually harping on these lies and misleading the public into believing that Ron Paul is still "only" on the internet and that his supporters won't show uip for the polls. They of course soundly ignore the dozens of straw polls ron paul dominated. Its becoming like clockwork, the way the media sets up their own spin on every development. Joe seems somewhat sympathetic, but he is still misled and perpetuates a false dynamic of the campaign. This campaign is THE premier grassroots campaign of the election, not just some "internet support".

Then of course that little mika bitch "at what point do you throw in the towel". Bah. To hell with em. But am i going to sit here on my ass and complain all day - hell no! Time to get out and post some flyers around campus and talk to people about ron paul. Peace. And F the MSM.

Uhhh...OK, I just finally got to see the entire interview on youtube. It was CRAP! Oh, yeah, it was fun and funny and all, but all they talked about was CAMPAIGNING and whether internet votes would translate, blah blah blah. I call it "SPECULATIVE JOURNALISM" and I am so damn sick of it!

Dr Paul needs to start taking control of these interviews and pumping out MESSAGE at every turn, and if he does get a "low polling numbers" question, he needs to debunk the polls immediately, letting everyone know that those polls are only polling a small sliver of the broad support he enjoys ("likely republican voters"). He did kinda touch on his types of supporters a little later but did not connect it to the faulty polls.

He also needs to be more assertive when he is asked a "throw in the towel" question. The answer, I am sorry to say, was lame and over-explained. He should have said something more along the lines of "That's the furthest thing from our minds...we are on the upswing and just drew 5000 people to a Philly rally, why would you ask me that question?"

Right now, every second of airtime counts and that interview was a waste of time. I also wish he had been much more assertive about Tucker and explained that the pimp thing was all Tucker's idea and that he was blind-sided.

Blech.

Something else he said - "We didn't plan on getting this much money." Is there a disconnect between Ron Paul and Johnathan Bydlak? Seriously. Ron says they didn't anticipate getting this much money, Bydlak says they need more and waiting till next month (16th) will be too late.

What the hell is wrong with some of you guys?? LOL

That was an awesome interview. It was fair, they joked around with him and he got to respond to everything they said.

Well, if it were a public spanking, the freedom Ron Paul would give to broadcast it without the censors getting in the way.:D

In posts like these everyone should add "youtube on page #XX of this thead", that way it'll prevent 30 min searches.

Good stuff!!!
There should be a positive e-mail bombing out of Scarborough over this one for treating Ron with some respect. He should know that everytime he has Ron on his show the viewership will go through the roof. We shouldn't just attack the bad guys, we should be giveing positive support to our freinds as well and encourage them to do it more by knowing that it will increase their viewership and possible sponsorships. I'v always liked Joe we should let him know he's the man for this one.

Yes, definitely. If anyone actually takes the time to report on Ron Paul in a responsible and factual manner, they deserve to be commended for it. And with some luck, it'll soften the image that the MSM tries to saddle us with of being "cyber-bullies" if we send positive e-mails for good stories, instead of just the counter-attacks for the bad pieces.
