These are the first pictures of a £500,000 ($760k) eco-home that has been specially built for a jobless mother of 11 courtesy of the taxpayer.

Heather Frost, 37, dubbed the 'Benefits Queen' because she has never worked in her life, is just weeks away from moving into the six-bedroom property.

She provoked a public outcry earlier this year when it was revealed she was being given the home near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire after complaining about her current 'nightmare' living arrangements with her massive brood.

She and her family currently live in two houses in Churchdown, Gloucestershire, which have been knocked through to make one home.

The idyllic rural home which Ms Frost is set to get the keys to has been described as an eco-mansion designed to reduce energy and water consumption and let in as much natural light as possible.

At least the kids don't have to suffer for their mother's bad choices any more, unless of course they follow her footsteps. It seems to me they are just promoting single motherhood here, and that is destroying the family unit and making it easier to indoctrinate the kids to do the state's bidding.

She probably hopes one or two of the kids does well in life and funds her retirement. Odds are they will.

The house isn't a mansion but it is serviceable and I am sure it is good for the kids.

When I first bought my house my tenant was a 19 year old with exactly this plan. Already had a 2 year old. Didn't work then had another baby shortly after with a 2nd guy.

She'll prob end up with 8, 6 diff dads and all at the expense of my working day.

I believe that raising kids is much harder than working a nine-five; I also believe that a mom is best when she can be home most of the time.

I am not in favor of state welfare but I believe that at this stage of the game, this is a good thing for the kids. They will have a better chance of growing up into responsible people than of being ghetto rats.

I know some welfare moms and none of them started out wanting to have tons of kids and live off of the state- they just want to feed their kids. Also- once on the dole, it is extremely hard to get off. I have seen moms threatened with the taking of their kids etc if they tried.

I don't blame The welfare Queen, but nor will I celebrate her. People react to their environment. Her environment is one where, if she keeps producing children, she will be taken care of by the state. Her children will undoubtedly follow the same path. You don't need tea leaves to see their fate. The state encourages this outcome, it keeps them relevant and in power.

I grew up in a house that was probably 1100 sf, not including the half basement. The family up the street had the same floorplan, and 11 kids. Never went in their house, so not sure how they divvied up all that space, but there was no way it could possibly be comfortable.

Most of them went to college, none went to jail, and they all went on to live relatively normal lives. The cramped life must have been difficult but it didn't seem to damage them much.

I love women with small boobs. In my book, boobs start at 'good' and go up from there. However, it's not generally the well-endowed chicks that get boob enlargements. Usually if anything they get them reduced. So I'll amend my argument to include enhancements, reductions and 'touch-ups' for those women who feel they have just the rights size. Bunch of fuckin' excuses..

The federal government has no business paying breeders.

Doesn't matter EU or USA.

If locals want to foot the bill for breeders then fine.

Which brings up another question...Who actually commissioned the building of this house and why?

With rights come responsibility's, This woman had every right in the world to sleep with as many men as she wanted. However she assumes the responsibility for rearing and feeding those children. Her reliance on legal plunder to subsidize her existence should be met with lethal force. I wonder if Bastiat was buried in a face-palm position.

It's responsibilities, not responsibility's. Learn the difference between a plural noun and the implication of ownership.

There is no "federal" government in the UK like there is in the US. The government based in Westminster has ALL the power. They create all the local governments and can dissolve them at will. And yes, most local governments get a very large part of their budgets from Westminster.

There is a lot of centralized power but they can't dissolve local governments at will. Most of them are free to do whatever they want. A lot of them are radical and left wing.

With a majority vote in the House of Commons they can. (The House of Lords is really just a rubber stamp and can't stop legislation anymore).

I dont know what the legislation says but i dont think a local council has ever been dissolved apart from Thatcher dissolving the London GLA in the 80's which was very anti-her and that had its own specific legislation. Most councils are left alone and do what they like and are elected on staggered basis like the US Senate every 2-4 years.

The dissolving of the GLA in 84(?) was the most notable example, especially because it was pushed through against the will of most Londoners.

That said, all local government reforms must be approved by Westminster and there have been a lot of changes, especially since the 70s.

The GLA though which is now back and headed by Boris is made up across the London Borough;s which also have their own councils so it's really an unnecessary duplication and you can make a good case for scrapping it but if Londoners want it and want to pay for it then good luck to them.

The legislation is the local government acts and I dont think they have ever dissolved one unless there are extreme circumstances like bankruptcy and rampant corruption. Some of them have directly elected mayors but most of them just use majority party forming a cabinet and running local services etc

Just remembered, it wasn't the GLA that was scrapped by Thatcher it was the London County.

The GLA has functions which individual boroughs can't do on their own or can't do as efficiently on their own, such as transportation, police, fire, and overall planning. It's sort of like how state and county governments function. Smaller duties are best left locally, while things that affect large populations and areas are best done by a more broad authority.

Things such as TfL are better run by the GLA.

And 30 St. Mary Axe is privately owned. It was originally built for Swiss Re, a reinsurance company.

Theyre across the Thames from each other. City Hall is in Southwark beside Tower Bridge and the Gherkin is in the City of London (which is not part of the Greater London Authority).

I didn't say the tube is best run by the mayor, I said is run more efficient regionally instead of by each individual borough. Same can be said of other services such as garbage collection and policing.

Obviously the tube would be best run if privatized like MTR in Hong Kong.

The tube isn't that bad, though. Sure it's not the cleanest (compared to Hong Kong or other Asian metros) and some lines (especially the Central Line) are overcrowded, but it's much better and cleaner than the NY subway. The overcrowding problem will be greatly alleviated with Crossrail.

There's no reason why any of it needs to be run city-wide. They should have privatised the tube but "conservative" Johnson loves being a central planner always hiring and firing a new chief on some outrageous 6 figure salary.

policing and garbage can be done by boroughs this is how its done all over England eduardo. except policing more of a county thing and the London Met has always existed before and after gla. The London Met is actually accountable to the national government or was before they got a gla again.

Generalissimo
07-04-2013, 01:25 AM
policing and garbage can be done by boroughs this is how its done all over England eduardo.

It is much more cost efficient to have one police force in London instead of one for every borough. You're contracting your argument against duplicate levels of government (boroughs and GLA) by saying it is more efficient to have each service duplicated in every borough instead of some services being handled region-wide.

Update:

A jobless mother-of-eleven was today told she will not be getting her palatial new taxpayer-funded home - because the £500,000 property doesn’t meet her needs.
A storm of protest had erupted over the six-bedroom property being specially built for Heather Frost, who also keeps a horse.
Frost, 37, who has never worked and whose children were fathered by four different men, was due to move into the house in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, at the end of this month.

A current neighbour, who refused to give his name, said: 'I'm gutted. I think everyone is.
'We were going to throw a street party when she finally moved away. She's been bragging to everyone how great her new house is.'
