I want to use the quote "Ron Paul has been a leader in the fight to defend and restore the 2nd Amendment." -Larry Pratt, Exec. Director, Gun Owners of America

legally, do I need permission from the GOA to do that?

Don't need permission if he actually said that. Would help to include the source of the quote.

When running a quote, it's always a sound idea to check with the originator first. The nightmare scenario is that someone follows up on it, and he has since changed his mind and instead wants to back Fred. All of a sudden our great quote has turned into an endorsement for Fred, and a black eye for us - all at our own expense!

Larry Pratt is a great guy and will probably be happy to give you almost any good and try quote you'd like.
