Quote of the decade by our HERO Snowden.

That is pretty much the PERFECT description.

When you live abroad as an American, you feel all these restrictions surrounding you.

Try opening up a bank account in a foreign country, there could be all sorts of troubles due to the fact if a US citizen opens an account in another country there are rules and regulations and obligations. No other citizens face these problems to open an account in a foreign land, some banks won't even bother.

Taxes is another headache. Try earning a living in a foreign country as a US citizen, and facing DUAL taxation, while no other citizen of other countries have this problem. Living away from the US even 365 days a year, every dollar earned in a foreign country, STILL has to be paid back to the US.

Try being married to a foreigner person, living abroad and being a US citizen, the spouse's income, accounts, and information becomes scrutinized. No other country does this.

Try opening a company or a partnership, again, the US needs it's hands in there.

Try GIVING UP citizenship. YOU have to face a severe TAX penalty based on your ENTIRE Earnings and ASSETS, PLUS it generates an AUTOMATIC red flag as to WHY are you doing this???? And could subject you to an audit going back 10 years.

So if you WANT to give it up, be prepared to be checked over real good. This doesn't include the future where some lawmakers are pushing for FURTHER penalties and PERMANENT ban from ever returning not even as a visitor.

It goes on and on and on. CITIZENSHIP is a SHACKLE a weapon.

Try entering different countries WITHOUT a passport.

Try to flea or get political asylum. There is NO FREEDOM or ESCAPE from the clutches of uncle sam. They have the ultimate weapon, your citizenship. They OWN you.

You are OWNED. They OWN your right to travel, they OWN your right to own a business (we need to know about it, no matter where it is), they OWN the fruits of your labor (no matter it was not not earned on American soil), they OWN your right to open a bank account (the penalty for not INFORMING the US government you have a foreign bank account is steep).

And if you seek political asylum, they will pressure ANY country that even CONSIDERS giving you assistance.

The Land of the FREE.

Despite all the new rules/fees involved with revoking your citizenship, (former) Americans have been doing it in record-numbers the past couple of years.

Just a generation ago Chinese immigrants flocked to the U.S. for a better life for their families. Now many of the children of these immigrants are heading back for the very same reason.

And of course the primary thing that makes the American experiment exceptional, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, has long been under attack by the D.C. thug usurpers.

Ugh. My mother-in-law gave me the line, "If you don't like it here, why don't you leave? Mew, mew, mew..."

I told her that I want the fuckers who ruined this country to leave or be held accountable for their treason. I shouldn't have to leave, as I am a United States citizen, by birthright, and adhere to the Supreme Law of the Land.

The biggest stick has always been the supreme law.

No amount of talk will ever displace the stick.

Politicians talk, irate people take up "sticks"...

You can get a second citizenship in a matter of months if you wanted to.
