Some good points about higher ed and the need to stop education subsidies, but I also wish he would have recommended alternatives like MOOC. He just sort of (IMO) dissed the humanities to make his point. Some people are deeply passionate about less employable fields such as the arts and humanities, but this doesn't mean they can't pursue their interests. MOOC, local art classes offered by studios, and Rosetta Stone-type programs would be a great alternative to a four-year degree you don't need and can't afford. People would enjoy it more since bachelor's degree programs make you take a lot of irrelevant courses (e.g. a fine arts student would still have to take math and science.) Through MOOCs and local art classes you could truly focus on your artwork without the debt, dorm life, and eat more than Ramen noodles. :rolleyes:
