This puts the burden on retailers to comply with the laws of 9,600 jurisdictions, to file monthly tax returns with 46 states, and to be subject to audits by states and localities in which they have no physical presence or representation.

Mind boggling.

Mind boggling.

Thank god you have to have $1m in sales. Although that's going to fall at some point soon. We've had to file in a couple jurisdictions for transient vendor sales. I'd rather be audited by the feds than have to file state sales taxes. Not a one is even close to the same. They all take 1/2 a day to do.

She's right...

if you're going to do this it must include these:

•Standardized definitions of what is taxable and what is not across all states.
•Standardized tax holidays.
•One rate per state.
•One standardized tax return.
•Audits only by the home state.

However, I'm much more in favor of the no tax idea
