In it, he said, “I don’t like killing innocent people” and noted that “it is forbidden” in Islam to do so, but he justified his actions as a response to US military action in Muslim countries, according to the indictment.

“The U.S. Government is killing our innocent civilians. .... I can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished. ... We Muslims are one body, you hurt one, you hurt us all,” Tsarnaev allegedly wrote. “Stop killing our innocent people and we will stop.”

A response to US military action in Muslim countries. Where have we heard that before?

What? Are you sure it didn't say, "I hate you for your freedoms."?

So, he had a pencil and paper and a candle in the boat with him?
Didn't necessarily need a candle. He went missing after the "early morning" confrontation where his brother was killed and wasn't found until night. He was likely in the boat for several hours including daylight. Article doesn't say what the note was written on. The note was reported when he was captured- this is not a new revelation. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2013/05/16/cbs-news-boston-marathon-bombing-suspect-left-note-in-watertown-boat/

This article says it was in pen.

BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev left a goodbye note in the boat where he was captured in Watertown, CBS News reported Thursday.

According to CBS News senior correspondent John Miller, investigators say Tsarnaev left a note claiming responsibility for the bombings shortly before he surrendered to police April 19.

He wrote the note as he was hiding in the boat, according to Miller, while bleeding from gunshot wounds sustained in a shootout with police and his older brother.

“Unable to come up with a piece of paper, he found a pen and began to write on the wall of the cabin,” Miller told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

“There have been rumors in this case about a so-called suicide note. This is a little different from that.”

The note, according to Miller, said that:

•Dzhokar did not mourn his older brother Tamerlan
•Tamerlan was a martyr now in paradise
•Dzhokar expected to join him there
•The bombings were retribution for what the U.S. did to Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq
•The Boston victims were collateral damage, like Muslims are in U.S. wars
•And, when you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims

“It was a bit of a goodbye note, a bit of a manifesto and somewhat of a confession as to his commitment and beliefs regarding the attack,” Miller told WBZ.

The note on the wall was riddled with bullet holes, according to Miller, from the shots fired into the boat after Dzhokhar came up through the tarp and a police officer covering that side of the boat thought he was holding another bomb.

So he basically said, "don't tread on us".

But timing of all these reports is strange.

On a sidenote, if Obama suddenly and drastically changed drone attacks policy that reportedly had killed many children, women , civilians in Afghan tribal areas till the time of Boston Marathon Bombing, didn't he send the wrong message to terrorists?

They were down to a relative trickle by that time already. In 2010 there were 122 drone attacks- an average of better than two a week. In the first four months of this year there were only 12 (Boston bombing was in May). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drone_attacks_in_Pakistan Pakistan was also having an election at the time which is the more likely reason the stopped when they did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistani_general_election,_2013

It seems like a person like this would eagerly kill me because of the actions of my government even though I disagree with our foreign policy and said so to my dimwit congressman.

Did this guy expect to accomplish something with massive collateral damage other than piss off people more and probably support Obama? Is this about a message or just some kind of twisted revenge?

Yes, I'm sure he was writing while laying in the boat bleeding. Good find by the cops. I haven't seen this much valor since that FBI agent found that list of 19 hijackers in that rental car at the airport along with a flight instruction video.

Your dates, averages are off. Boston Marathon was on April 15.
There was one drone attack every week on average for 2013 till Boston Marathon and a sudden halt after that and only two since above boat note was reported.

As to election pause, if Obama's masters did not pause during a massive flood there, why would an election cause a sudden pause months in advance while terrorists had free hand attacking election rallies/kidnapping candidates? If drones really kill terrorists, they should have been stepped up during that time.

A previous post:

Obama (or some may say his puppet masters) had escalated drone attacks in Afghan border areas since 2009 that have killed many civilians with only 2% of the killed high level suspects. On March 25 2013, Guardian UK published an animation of rocketing drone attacks since Obama came to power:

Boston Marathon Bombing occured on April 15, 2013 and on April 19 younger suspect was arrested and bombing was claimed to be revenge for killings going on in Afghanistan, Iraq and not linked to domestic causes. Last reported drone attack took place on April 17. In an unusual lull, there have been no drone attacks in a month since then. Is this just a coincidence or Obama has stopped drone attacks abruptly as a result of Boston Marathon Bombing?

Some related articles in media that shed light on these connections:

Boston bombing suspect cites U.S. wars as motivation, officials say

The note -- scrawled with a marker on the interior wall of the cabin -- said the bombings were retribution for U.S. military action in Afghanistan and Iraq, and called the Boston victims "collateral damage" in the same way Muslims have been in the American-led wars.

Obama has made repairing U.S. relations with the Islamic world a foreign policy priority, even as he has expanded drone operations in Pakistan and other countries, which has inflamed Muslim public opinion.

On Sunday's NBC Meet the Press, special correspondent Tom Brokaw used a discussion on the Boston Marathon bombings to argue more broadly that the "roots" of anti-American terrorism across the Islamic world are U.S. drone attacks: "I think we also have to examine the use of drones that the United States is involved in and – and there are a lot of civilians who are innocently killed in a drone attack in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, and in Iraq." [Listen to the audio (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/sites/default/files/2012/2013-04-21-NBC-MTP-Brokaw.mp3) or watch the video after the jump]

Brokaw began by wondering: "We have to work a lot harder at a motivation here. What prompts a young man to come to this country and still feel alienated from it, to go back to Russia and do whatever he did? And I don't think we've examined that enough." Speaking of people in the Middle East, Brokaw warned: "There is this enormous rage against what they see in that part of the world as a presumptuousness of the United States."

Surely there's a picture of this "confession" published somewhere.

Is it in the press conference? Just skipped through it.

Are the Hastings skeptics skeptical about this? Will any reporter ask to see proof?
Is there anyone that demands proof anymore?

If there was a picture of this "confession" this paper would probably have it. Nada.

Boston bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev left note in boat he hid in, sources say

Sources tell Miller that Tsarnaev wrote the note in the boat he was hiding in as police pursued him, and as he bled from gunshot wounds sustained in an earlier shootout between police and his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev. It reads as part manifesto, part suicide note and part justification for the killing and maiming of innocent civilians.

The note -- scrawled with a marker on the interior wall of the cabin -- said the bombings were retribution for U.S. military action in Afghanistan and Iraq, and called the Boston victims "collateral damage" in the same way Muslims have been in the American-led wars. "When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," Tsarnaev wrote.

I'll believe it when I see a picture of it, and independent observers can examine it. Not before.
