Just a thought. Many Americans view him as a hero, many a traitor. Could this be the tipping point?

Not likely, football season is starting soon, until then there are too many other good shows on tv that we don't want to miss.

Nope, TPTB will probably distract John Q Public with some fabricated attempted terrorist attack and then both left & right sides will be fed by MSM that it was a good thing "that fugitive on the run" was caught so Amerika could get back to thwarting those terrorists. Then to top it off, we will begin the invasion into Syria... by then everyone else will be like "Ed Snow?... Edward Snowden?...Who is that"

Nope.... those of us that are outraged by it are probably all here, posting away.... the rest will go onto the next story in the news cycle and/or celebrity hijinks and/or sports game.

Hopefully Honey Boo Boo and her mother can get on American Idol. Paris Hilton and one of the Kardashians should get on Dancing with the stars. Can you believe this whole Paula Dean scandal? Who is this Edward Snowden character?

after the Russians are done extracting everything there is to extract, the Americans will need to then figure out what he told them and that treatment will equal or surpass what someone named IGOR may be doing to ed snowden right now.

Protests. Hahahahaha funny, like the ones for Ron Paul? Like the anti-war protests? LOL Get real, you aren't going to do anything at all.

There was a massive anti war protest in NYC but most of the attendees were libs...back before der Fuhrer got elected...when the decider was still in office. Bunch of people got arrested.

Masssive huh? And "libs" too eh? LOL. I must have missed that. How many times did this "massive" anti war protest happen? Like 1968 massive with rocks being thrown and buildings going up in flames ?

Sorry, I'm baiting you now. Thanks for the laugh. Very funny.

I like Mad Men and the walking dead too, but this is much more important to the american people. They should champion their heroes cause. What would jack from lost do?

You won't see any sort of protests until SNAP cards stop working, cable TV goes out or sporting events cease. As long as there is government cheese to eat and gladiators are dancing on TV, the sheep will be content.

Just the one big one...several smaller marches by the Vietnam vets groups as I recall. Media said hundreds at the 2003 one but pics of the crowds were estimated as several thousand and another one in 2011 I forgot about estimated 10000. Large by US standards.

Edward Snowden committed treason against the United States and fled to China AND Russia. China and Russia...at the same time. Can you believe it?

Not sure it will be a tipping point, but I think it is waking more people from their slumber. The question is, will they fully wake, so slide back into it....

There's no such thing as a tipping point. This country is still plugged into the matrix. Nothing will wake them up, not even something as mindblowing as the NSA scandal. We should keep trying, by all means, and the few victories we have do help, but this country needs some blood sweat and tears before anything will change.

As long as people have a food source, basic shelter, and the boob tube (TV), the federal machine will always dominate and oppress.

I don't think protests change anything. Our government is owned lock, stock and barrel by the global elite and the MIC. For all we know the elections are rigged too because Congress sure doesn't seem to be worried about public opinion or losing their jobs....how many unpopular bills have they passed regardless of how many phone calls or petitions they get. If it helped, we wouldnt have so many defending this fascist crap. They arrested over 200 people at the anti war march in 2003 and almost every case was dismissed because they were illegal arrests but they did it anyway.

No that's not large by US standards. This is large by US standards, when people made a real choice to do the right thing and resist or not.

Didn't change anything? Funny but the scumbag government told us it lengthened the war. Meanwhile we know it shortened it and if that didn't work there would have been nothing left.

Sign waving doesn't do anything. Whining on message boards doesn't do anything. Supporting neocons in libertariani costumes don't do anything. REAL PROTESTS like this one DO.

Those days are gone. Now they volunteer.

Why do you think they keep us focused on the bottom two? You cannot go higher with out the base. Why do you think independent food growers and homesteaders are harassed to the point that they have to leave the country?

We, as a country, are stuck on level two. Some of us have made it to level three and beyond, but not many.

I don't know, but I doubt it.

I was thinking last night how epic it would be if Mr. Snowden decided to simply walk into congress and say, "Here I am, where are you." Or something dramatic, and then the people would rise up and throw off the chains of illegal surveillance and Mr. Snowden would be free in the, no longer just nominal, land of the free.

I guy can dream.

Football season isn't starting soon, and there really aren't any shows in the summer. The summer = people are at the beach, on vacation, not paying attention.

It hit me three years after i took Psych 101 at a community college.

Keep people squabbling over food and safety and they have no time to focus on enlightenment. Why do you think most of the libertarians are single 20-somethings? Sure the college loan racket gets some of them mad, and many are pro-peace and fiscally conservative. Mostly we just have more time and disposable income than those with families.

Sure, a two income household makes more money than we do, but the yspend it on housing, daycare, school costs, payments on two or more vehicles, taxes, taxes and taxes.

What do we spend our income on? Maybe some of us have a car payment, a rent paytment, a cell phone and utilities, but we have no children to pay for. That frees up a LOT of income and time.

Why do you think Ron Paul was energized by what he saw on campuses nationwide?

When I was a single 20 something, I thought it was because we were seeing a new and better idea that our Viet and WW2 parents hadn't been exposed to. Fuck ME, huh.

Although, I still attribute the lack of women in the liberty movement to the concept that families are typically socialist units, and work quite well that way. Otherwise, they are sometimes little dictatorships. Some things just don't scale well.
