Rogers: "Bad Guys" Have Already Changed the Way They Operate Because of Snowden Leaks

Leah Barkoukis | Jun 23, 2013

The government needs to “use every legal avenue” possible to bring NSA leaker Edward Snowden back to the United States, House Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers said on Sunday.

Rogers slammed Snowden’s decision to leak classified documents and argued that the former contractor for Booz Allen Hamilton has “jeopardized our national security.”

"We have seen that bad guys, overseas terrorists that are committing and plotting attacks on the U.S. and our allies, have changed the way they operate," he said.

Rogers also questioned Snowden’s motives, given that he’s on the run—from Hong Kong to Moscow—and may seek asylum in Cuba or Venezuela.

"When you look at it, every one of those nations is hostile to the U.S. If you could go to North Korea and Iran, he could round out his government oppression tour," Rogers said. (I think I'm getting irony poisoning)"If you think about what he says he wants and what his actions are, it defies logic.” Um, not really
"If he really believes he did something good, he should get on a plane and come back and face the consequences of his actions," he said.

(What?)

" (I think I'm getting irony poisoning)"

Don't drink the Kool-Aid, it's full of it.

"If he really believes he did something good, he should get on a plane and come back and face the consequences of his actions,"

And I am so tired of hearing that from a bunch of cowards.

I saw this line of thinking showing up on twitter "if he believes, he must come back"... I'm thinking this meme is being injected into the social consciousness on purpose and plays to those who claim they have" nothing to hide"

I guess these people forgot that the big bad bully wants to throw his ass I am the slammer for 30+ years. Or they don't know that Manning was I supposed solitary for months.

Just say thank you for shining a light on this huge transgression.

That they have. They have shifted gears. Full speed ahead. They are watching us destroy ourselves and they are basking in the glory. All because of people like you Mr. Rogers.

It would be too tedious to go through the laundry list of bogosities in this joker's spew. So I'll just say I have zero respect for a grown man who, in a context as serious as this, uses the phrase "bad guys" - as if this was some kind of "cops an' robbers" game.

Oh, of course it is.

The government press organs have already gotten the orders to address him as "The Leaker" and not "The Whistleblower".

'Cos, you know, the Evil Empire is never wrong.

This fucking loser said that Snowden "stole material that belongs to the American people," material that Rogers wants to keep secret from the American people. So, to recap, it belongs to the you, but you can't know about it.

Gee, thanks. What a wonderful purchase.

According to the government I've been a "bad-guy" for decades.

Friends and family disagree.

I hate hearing that argument about these leaks changing the way terrorist now operate. Maybe the terrorists are just chilling out right now.

If the "terrorist" did in fact change how they operate, and the US Government knows they changed their ways of operating, to completely prove that the US gov. would have to know what they changed it to.

...and then in knowing this new way, it makes their argument about Snowden leaks irrelevant to their interests.

Lol, they don't need logic. Just angrily spew on about "bad guys" and patriotism.

Just made me think of "Will put a boot up their ass, cause its thee Merican way... Let Freedom Ring, Let the Church Bells Ring, Blah, Blah, Blah, Its the day of reckoning.." and other cheesy NEO CON versions of freedom loving Sean Hannity intro songs.

Bad guys change their ways?

WTF??? What has been released? That we are being spied on on a MASSIVE scale! That only tier 1 & 2 level cell services were cooperating, but tier 3 & 4 were not. Unfortunately, However, tier 3 & 4 services do not rely on their own infrastructures so the gvmt gets everything.

There seem to be storage and retention issues, however...

That is the part I found ironically sickening. Snowden stole information that belongs to you and me and gave it to us, and that was wrong. Its ours... we just are allowed to know about it, see it, hear about it or be aware of it.

Thank you Edward Snowden for giving me my property. :)

P.S.
The great news is that very few people anymore really watch and value programs like Meet The Press or Face The Nation. That generation is dying off everyday. The internet destroy the old information control values.

Meet the Press averages just under 3 million viewers (http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/21/david-gregory-renews-meet-the-press-contract/?_r=0), which is less than 1% of our U.S. population and less than 700,000 viewers ages 25-54 (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/07/meet-the-press-ratings-low_n_1578306.html), which is the prime demographic they need. Basically Meet the Press is watched by a small group of old ladies that believe in the state as their god.

Judging from the comments here and at the original article linked, Mr. Rogers really stepped in it.
