SAN JOSE, Calif. — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was booed by progressive activists Saturday for defending President Obama on the NSA’s surveillance programs and suggesting that alleged leaker Edward Snowden broke the law.

Speaking in a wide-ranging Q&A session at this year’s Netroots Nation conference, Pelosi said it’s unfair to equate Obama and former President George W. Bush on the issue of surveillance.

“People on the far right are saying oh, this is the fourth term of President Bush,” the California Democrat said. “Absolutely, positively not so.”

As Pelosi was saying the country needs a “balance” between security and privacy, Marc Perkel, a 57-year-old activist from Gilroy, Calif., started shouting at Pelosi during her answer and was escorted out of the room.

“It’s not a balance. It’s not constitutional!” he yelled. “No secret laws!”

Others in the room began shouting as well, saying things like “Leave him alone!” or “That’s what a police state looks like right there!”

She's right, he's even worse. It should be blaringly obvious to all that it doesn't matter what party is in office. I offer a solution, dissolve the federal government. :)

No, Like always they think if it was just done a little different or the really smart people were doing it they would have success.

People are waking up all over. Some get there sooner than others and some not at all, but issues like this do wake people up. While many will still cling to the lesser of two evils argument, everyday a Democrat realizes they are being played. Everyday a Republican sees what Obama is doing, they get pissed and then realize that Bush did these same things. As we keep speaking the truth, it hits home for more and more people. Our Republicrat neighbors can be rehabilitated.

7-11 may have the right solution.

They are still criminals since they didn't report it. See something, say something.

Good thing we invested ALL our time and resources joining the republicans. We have possibly two fakes already on our hands anyways. Bentivolio, and the guy from texas I think, can't remember his name.

Lately some of my political comments on Facebook have been getting "liked" by a friend who is left-leaning. I think this Snowden issue is causing some folks to see the light about the D/R party nonsense.
