Hey all, I am not the most tech inclined guy out there, but I was thinking yesterday about how to create a liberty minded search engine. Thinking about something that encrypts any search... don't know how to do this, maybe send out the data in bits and then bring it back?

I would like to get rid of the data mining too for the personal web ads that other search engines give you, and so funding for this might have to come from a subscription, I don't know? Just throwing it out there.

Imagine instead of Google becoming a verb..."hey just google it," instead get this new search engine used so much that it becomes a verb... "hey just go NO NSA it."

Maybe link it to Campaign for Liberty so that subscriptions go to fund Campaign for Liberty.

Thought from all the tech savvy people out there?

Startpage.com can handle that already.

As others have pointed out, there are similar search engines to what you have described, but if you want to beat Google, then you're going to have to set your sights a bit higher than just creating a competing search engine.
