I am glad she lost.

By the way, Miss Virgin Islands is a Ron Paul supporter...I am sure she would have given a more appropriate answer

Audemus jura nostra defendere

Audemus jura nostra defendere — Latin for "We Dare Defend Our Rights" or "We Dare Maintain Our Rights" — is the state motto of Alabama. It is depicted on the official Coat of arms of Alabama

I guess she hasn't thought much about that.

Watching most of those women answer questions is like the bad auditions of american idol. Ouch.

I had a feeling she would go with the lame answer that would appease the majority of idiots, if she had the ability to articulate at all.

Anyone else surprised at how many political-type questions there were?

Either these women are nervous, or they need to start instituting an IQ test at this contest. I feel stunted just listening to this...It's much better without sound I assure you. :p

Far from minding it, Miss Alabama clearly gets off on it. Otherwise, she wouldn't be in a dog and pony show that is showcased around her appearance.

I liked that, she says let men solve this problem. Either they were going for comedy with these responses or these poor girls aren't too bright. I guess when one is that attractive, you don't have much of a need to use your brain to get what you want.

She was expected to have an answer for something she had no idea about. Her answer made no sense whatsoever yet the crowd cheered. That is more troublesome than one woman whose goal is to become more attractive and likeable than her fellow contestants. The crowd has no excuse aside from the possible reason that this woman's family cheered loudly and enthusiastically enough that the people around felt obligated to join in. Perhaps not obligated, but left out if they did not. This is doubtful. More than likely they were too busy watching the woman's figure and listening to her sexy tone of voice to care.

When people are so predictable as shown in the video we are at a tough crossroads on spreading the message of liberty. Intelligence and truth is unpopular while beauty and answers created artificially without knowledge on a subject are applauded. This is the hurdle of liberty or any message aside from when or where Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got into an argument at. Blame media who promote this garbage as well as our fellow citizens. Blame the sponsors, the magazines, the television shows, which promote ditzyness and ignorance as 'cute' and promote physical attractiveness above all.

All in all disappointing.

So what you're saying is that we need attractive candidates and spokespeople.

So what you're saying is that we need attractive candidates and spokespeople.
People observing looks over the content of the message wouldn't help either.

I really don't know what I'm suggesting. I suppose you could say I am simply pointing out problems with no realistic solutions proposed. I see the pointlessness and criticism that statement deserves BUT something needs to be done. We are in a society where beauty pageant contestants are asked pertinent questions about policy and no matter what answer they give they are applauded. Something is very wrong with that.

I really don't have a solution for it all. (the lack of care of the American people, the circuses applauded, the MSM narrative parading as actual news, the disconnect with the rest of the world, the complacency felt with the various NSA datamining techniques, the propaganda/Murica Fuck Yeah! attitude) In my mind I can see how the different problems relate and how it came to being, but how to change or reverse the trend? - I have no idea.

I suppose one could say that I am pessimistic prick, analyzing the world frame by frame within the entirety of the wickedry we perpetrate, with not one surefire solution to say, "This is it!"

I must let the show go on.

Not that I think the people in the crowd are against the surveillance State by and large, but they probably cheered to not embarrass / make her feel more awkward. I'm sure most people in the crowd realized how dumb, incoherent, and embarrassing her response was. It was about as articulate as a three-year old might come up with.

I think they have a list of the possible questions beforehand, so they try to plan out a response for each one using smart-sounding buzzwords. When they get put on the spot and aren't well-prepared, they will take parts of answers for different questions and try to throw them all together, but really all they remember are the buzzwords.

I have to LOL at myself though. Sometimes I give lectures or presentations on topics I know very well- I prefer to speak extemporaneously. Afterwards, I get people who say they liked what I talked about and it was very interesting, but really I don't recall much of the details of what I said. So I have no idea if they are blowing smoke up my ass, or if I was the one blowing the smoke
