U.S. Ambassador Howard Gutman: Allegations of child sex solicitation

A leaked government memo says “(t)he agent began his investigation and had determined that the ambassador routinely ditched his protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children.”It also notes that Gutman’s “protective detail and the embassy’s surveillance detection team” knew a great deal about his actions.


The Mail indicates that the Ambassador is “a top donor to President Obama, having raised a total of $775,000 for his 2008 campaign and inauguration committee, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

The long-standing presidential tradition of rewarding fundraisers and contributors with ambassadorships has continued politics as usual underPresident Barack Obama. Friday the President re-enforced it with three new appointments.
President Obama nominated John B. Emerson as Ambassador to Germany. Emerson is a Los Angeles investment manager at The Capital Group Companies, and was the 2012 co-chair the DNC’s southern California finance committee.
Fundraiser James Costos has been nominated is to be Ambassador to Spain. Costos is the openly gay Home Box Office vice president for global licensing, retail and consumer marketing.
Rufus Gifford has been nominated to be Ambassador to Denmark. Gifford was the campaign’s liaison to the gay community. Gifford directed the Obama campaign finance operation in the 2012 election and was finance chair of the 2012 inaugural committee.


Obama fundraisers who have served as Ambassadors have had some problems. Nicole Avant, former Ambassador to the Bahamas, resigned after a critical IG report in November 2011 Others involved with controversies include Ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, and Cynthia Stroum, Ambassador to Luxembourg.

A prominent gay rights activist charged last week with sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy is a strong supporter of President Obama who has visited the White House more than a half-dozen times in the past two years, visitor logs show.
Terrence P. Bean, 66, who raised more than a half-million dollars for Mr. Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012, last visited the White House on May 30 when he met with the president, first lady Michelle Obama and political adviser David Simas.

The former aspiring actor claimed he was threatened to take the drugs and perform sexual acts at gunpoint. In the lawsuit, Egan alleged he was forced to sit on Singer’s lap and perform sexual acts on him. Vulture reports Egan’s lawsuit claimed he resisted but Egan forced him to perform oral sex and the director “forcibly sodomized” him.

However, the three boys were able to file a civil lawsuit in 2000 for sexual abuse against DEN executives Marc Collins-Rector, Chad Shackley and Brock Pierce. The judge in case awarded the plaintiffs $4.5 million, which Egan claimed he collected just $25,000.
