Public education, had we taught her to judge size using the metric system instead of the "standard" system she would have been able to properly judge the distance between the roof edge and the pool.

In related news, mom thinks Obama is "cool" and Tsarnaev is "Hot. I can't understand why people are so angry at that cute boy." :D

come on now. kids are going to make mistakes. i made a few when i was younger. so i see nothing wrong with them asking for donations. medical bills can bankrupt an average person pretty damn quick. the key word here is "donations". people are free to either donate or not. at least they werent telling the hospital and doctors that they MUST treat her or else, like some people resort to. i see nothing wrong here.

I'm reserving judgment on the mom.

Seen way worse with people trying to jump into pools (usually after a few beers). She's very lucky, actually.

EMS line you never want to hear, or you know you're in deep shit:

"Well, what had happened was..."
"Well, I thought I'd be fun..."
"Well, I didn't exactly plan it like this..."

My EMS teacher showed our class this video (http://www.break.com/video/ugc/guy-splits-head-in-half-jumping-off-ledge-not-for-feint-hearte-1734366). It's incredibly disturbing, disgusting, and not for the faint-hearted. To put it lightly, the guy splits his entire face open after trying to jump into water from a ledge.
