A Texas high school silenced its Valedictorian’s microphone during his speech when he diverted from his pre-approved remarks and instead spoke about the Constitution.

Joshua High School graduate Remington Reimer, who was accepted into the Naval Academy, had his microphone silenced during his speech right after he told fellow graduates that school officials apparently threatened him with the move the day before, MyFoxDFW.com reported.

Colin Radford, a fellow graduate told MyFoxDFW.com that Reimer was "talking about getting constitutional rights taken away from him, and then he said "just yesterday they threatened to turn my microphone off," and then his microphone went off."

"Student speakers were told that if their speeches deviated from the prior-reviewed material, the microphone would be turned off, regardless of content," Joshua Independent School District said in a statement.

"When one student's speech deviated from the prior-reviewed speech, the microphone was turned off, pursuant to District policy and procedure," the statement said.

The ceremony reportedly opened and closed with a prayer, leading another graduate to believe Reimer’s speech mentioning God and Jesus had nothing to do with the microphone being silenced.

Policy was followed.

Compliance was achieved.

That's all that matters.

Thank God none of those brave school officers were hurt.

What these numbnuts fail to grasp is that not all of those young people are stupid enough to regard what has happened as being right. They cut off their own balls in a sense because those who choose to be better clued look at the people in the administration as corrupt/stupid and are likely not to pattern themselves after such scurrilous vermin. It may be that the kids are being raised to be stoopid but in a great plurality of cases they don't want to be. In those cases all the "authorities" have succeeded in doing is having discredited themselves and delayed the inevitable, which is that those kids CHOOSE to become smart and NOT be anything like the douchebags who tried to keep them down.

One of our roles as old farts is to be present for the seekers and help them find truth. Be a wellspring for them; never turn them away. Teach them what it means to be free. Teach them the true nature of proper human relations. Armed with those two basics, the rest is up to them. They can and usually will take it from there.

and yet you marginalize and chastise Adam Kokesh for being 'active' in civil matters.

Statists gonna state. Of course if he wants to join the Naval Academy then I have little sympathy for those that want to join the welfare queens anyway.

Shades of Bertram Scudder's radio show. Only in this case, the government goon didn't neglect to flip the switch ...

I have not marginalized him. I question whether he owns himself; whether he is what he says. He gains cred by doing his do, then announces something truly outrageous and daring and potentially very cool, if in a dangerous sort of way: an armed march on DC. Thousands of people sign up (take the bait???) and what does he do? He goes to a pot rally or protest or whatever in hell it was and gets himself arrested and cancels the march. That was smart.

Nobody playing with a full deck can look at this behavior and not have questions. If he'd been intimidated into cancelling the march, he should have manned up and told the world and the world would not only have understood, but would have been even more strongly behind him. If he got cold feet, well, he should have thought of that before making his big announcement to the nation and got thousands of people to pledge their marching support. How can anyone look at his behavior without at least asking some questions regarding who he really is and what he is really about? That's not marginalizing - it's exercising one's intelligence.

But what does any of this have to do with the thread?

Did he keep talking in a loud tone of voice? He should have. Don't let them win that easy.
