Oh how far that movement has fallen. Audit? Really? Seriously? END IT.

Make noise, but responsibly. The idea now is that it's only conservatives and those on the right who are taking these issues and making a deal out of them. Prove them wrong. We can win this war on ideas and shatter the notion that it's just folks on the right upset over this.

I think "audit" in these terms is a play on the IRS tactic of intimidation.

I don't think they're really calling for opening their books...

Marches do nothing.
What is the legal first step? Amendments have been repealed before. Let's call for a repeal of the 16th.

The *Tea Party* wants an audit. Please stop calling yourself the Tea Party.

An audit, how cute. Raimondo sums up the hypocrisy among both liberals and conservatives perfectly regarding this topic:

These people are our compatriots; they are low-hanging fruit and the people that are flocking to Rand Paul's words en masse. And you want to insult them? Really? Just how exactly do you believe that furthers our goals?

Here's how it happens.

Need 2/3 of the congress and senate to approve an ammendment and 3/4 of the states have to ratify. It would be a new amendment that repeals the 16th amendment.

First step, someone in congress need to propose and amendment. Would Rand Paul do this?

There are no restraints on the Federal government blowing money left and right.

First Audit: IRS Disneyland Anaheim 2010 Conference

Cost of Conference: $4,100,000
2 Keynote speakers: $45,000
Gifts/Trinkets for IRS Employees: $64,000
Commissions For IRS Event Planners: $133,000
Video Production: $50,200

IRS spent $50 Million on 225 conferences from 2010 to 2012

US Treasury: Any Conference costing more than $25K must be approved by a Senior Official
US Treasury: Any Conference costing more then $250K must be approved by the US TREASURY SECRETARY aka Timothy Geithner

This thing is on my birthday, no way would I spend that day in DC. Good on them for doing their thing in a way they think it's constructive. Getting them all worked up over this IRS scandal could really cement a lot of them in our ranks. Fact is, we're ideologues and true believers much like many of the lefties are in their own respect, so it takes a deteriorating economy, scandals among others to drive the mom and pops more our way. Everyone has a different story on how they took the red pill.

I agree we need to grow the movement not insult anyone who is not as 'pure' as us

What they are doing and calling for doesnt hurt. If anything it helps keep publicity on the issue. I wish them the best of luck and hope its a big rally. Sure it would be better to call for its abolition but anyone calling the IRS out for their BS in this day and age is good in my book.
