Got $500 and live out west? Consider attending and spreading the message

This year's FreedomFest gathering begins on July 10 in Las Vegas and promises an impressive lineup of influential speakers for an event spanning four days.

"FreedomFest is an annual festival where free minds meet to celebrate great books, great ideas, and great thinkers in an open-minded society," FreedomFest states on its website.

"It is independent, non-partisan, and not affiliated with any organization or think tank. Founded and produced by Mark Skousen since 2002, FreedomFest invites the 'best and the brightest' from around the world to talk, strategize, socialize, and celebrate liberty.

"FreedomFest is open to anyone who enjoys a wide interest in books, art, music, film, and drama in all topics, including science, philosophy, economics, health, sports, technology, business, religion, law, and politics."

The dozens of speakers at this year's FreedomFest — to be held at Caesars Palace — include Sen. Rand Paul, Forbes Chairman Steve Forbes, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, and Fox Business Channel host John Stossel.

Other speakers include FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe, former White House Economics Adviser Art Laffer, financial commentator Jim Rogers, FreedomFest producer Mark Skousen, and Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal.

Among the main themes this year is "The Future of the West: Are We Rome?"

Registration fees to attend the event are $495 per person or $795 per couple, and include three full days of general sessions and breakout sessions following the Day of Arrival on July 10, a welcome cocktail reception, all conference materials, and unlimited entrance to the exhibit hall.
