I'm excited to see what comes of it, but somehow I feel this is all just being used as a less-revealing/damaging scandal and Obama is just a scapegoat to keep the attention diverted. I don't trust the media one bit, the fact that they are openly talking about this has me suspicious. People should be more outraged over the foreign affair-related scandals in my opinion, this taxing thing should really come as no surprise; not to say that there should not be outrage.

Lets hope it sullies Obama/Biden/Clinton through 2016.

All of this bad press for the IRS is fantastic. WHile not likely, it could lead to the eventual dissolvement of the IRS and federal income tax. Obama is a temporary problem with an end in sight, but the income tax and IRS are a permanent cancer that needs to go away, much like the Federal Reserve.

Among their voter base, I seriously doubt it. Note a lot of the outrage isn't coming from Democrats.

Let's be realistic here, they guy isn't going anywhere. This is all going to blow over and within a few months it will probably seen as necessary seeing as how these same people more then like were the same ones fighting against gun control.

I dont see how the IRS survives this. They'll have to rename it or something.

If this does explode, watch for everything that is NOT being said. Like a full on full scale Invasion of Syria coming up as a By-Line in one of those news tickers at the bottom of the screen. It is one way that a mistake can be turned to an advantage. Distraction from the IMPORTANT topics.

I am not a fan of a national sales tax or flat tax or fair tax or whatever, but this is the time where those supporters should be pushing for a replacement tax that does not require an agency like the IRS.

At this point, unless we do something to remove the misplaced authority in those that control the Federal Reserve Bank and the IRS, abolishing the IRS will be irrelevant because those taxes will just be collected in some other means. Either by an increase on other taxes on quantity, or by Inflation, which a tax on the value of the money. Leaving the controlling powers alone wont have the results we want it to regardless of how strongly we want it.

Now, since there is no one in Govt that represents us, we do NOT have Representation. Should that not also mean that we should NOT have ANY Taxation due to the complete and total lack of Representation?

Besides no tax at all, the only fair tax is called The Equal Tax. The Equal Tax was promoted by Joe Sobran. It says every person, from the billionaire to the fast food worker, pay the exact equal amount. No exemptions.

The IRS is a private corporation and not part of the government. So no.

luckily there are more than defeatists hanging around these boards that are out there talking about this issue now, even regular people are getting in. words can't describe how fortunate this is for the country

today yet another little known congress republican is calling out dissolution of IRS entirely and greta susteren did not disagree with him. this with steve hayes of fox news whose emails were probed, and almost one interviewed person every 2~3 other times i watch cable news, all calling for total abolition of irs. i just wish ron paul is given more credit for, again, being the first. but defeatists among our own will embarrass paul enough. this is why some people can do it for 30 years, some can't.
