Owners of the property were arrested and charged with multiple felony counts of "terroristic threatening" and "contempt of cop".

Sarcasm...sorry, I know, I know, I'd think it was for real too.

As it turns out, the police really had no idea what they were truly responding to. And while it was originally reported that the panic button had been activated by a third party as a prank, or even an employee who thought that the statue was a terrorist, apparently someone simply hit it without truly knowing its purpose.

Would not be surprised though...

Lol I was sure it was sarcasm at first but then stated second guessing myself.

Yeah, I'm actually more surprised someone wasn't charged.

That's a pretty realistic looking mannequin though. Idk what the hell they were thinking when they decided to have that looking out the window.

I guess that's one way to make sure your building never gets robbed. Until someone tries to rob you for your mannequin lol.

Employees pushed it because they didn't know what it was. We almost did the same thing at a place I worked as a teenager. They have these buttons, but don't tell the employees about it. Only the managers knew about it.

“You see on a security camera, them looking at this panic button, looking around, discussing it, then pressing it and looking around to see what happens. And nothing happened right away,”

That would be an incredibly stupid policy. I wonder why they wouldn't tell the workers? Maybe because they don't want people who quit or get fired knowing the exact location?

They wanted to keep their secret button "secret". Ironically enough, one of the few people they trusted, an assistant manager, was eventually caught embezzling, which was one of the several factors that resulted in their business failing.

WTF I don't get that at all. Employees are like what's this toy.

Panic Button ?

They really exist?

We need some "Don't Panic" buttons.

It really is getting damned hard to know what is sarcasm and what isn't.

Around here, panic buttons sit on racks under the counters and are loaded at all times.

Yeah, that was good too! Couldn't find a clip that included the whole button part.
