OVERVIEW
Modern Money and Public Purpose is an interdisciplinary series held at Columbia Law School over the 2012-2013 academic year. The series explore new perspectives and progressive policy proposals on a range of contemporary issues facing the U.S. and global macroeconomy. Seminars will feature a mix of academics and practitioners on topics ranging from the history of debt and money and the structure of the financial system to economic human rights for the 21st century. Each seminar will be accompanied by an online tutorial to allow participants to discuss and explore the themes and accompanying materials in depth in a peer-interactive setting.
ATTENDANCE
All seminars and tutorials are open to the public and will be accessible to individuals without an extensive background in law or political economics, although a basic conceptual familiarity is recommended.
COST
Attendance is free, although participants are encouraged to register in advance.
FORMAT
Each seminar will take place in the early evening, and will follow a similar format consisting of speaker presentations followed by questions and discussion, and a reception with light refreshments. Each seminar will be live streamed on this website and will incorporate questions asked by audience members via twitter. Every seminar will also be recorded in high quality and the videos placed online with additional resources and links.

Tutorials will take place shortly after each seminar, and will be hosted online here. Tutorials are open to anyone who wishes to participate, however individuals wishing to join the accompanying social network are asked to sign-up through the Young Scholar's Initative Commons platform, here.

Tutorials will include an introductory summary of the seminar and core readings, followed by a discussion featuring questions, ideas, and new avenues of inquiry raised by the seminar and readings, and concluding with follow-up plans and the consolidation of questions to ask seminar speakers on the Forum. A written summary of each tutorial will be placed in the Archives section and on the Blog, allowing those who were unable to participate to follow the progress of the tutorials in their own time.

I'm going to put this on the front page so it gets tweeted out to the forum's list. I may take it down later.

Warlord doesn't really have any good questions for Murphy. I suppose it would be more fun devising something fiendish for his opponent to answer.

They didn't take any online questions. There were too many people in the audience.
