I don't buy SB coffee because I think its obscenely expensive to pay 4-5 bucks for a cup of Jo but this ex GOP Vice Chair of Texas has taken SB boycott to a whole new dimension:

Evangelical Pastor to Christians: Don't Drink at Starbucks - VIDEO

"You can't drink Starbucks and be biblically right on this thing [marriage]. It's just a real simple principle," said David Barton, an evangelical pastor who is the former vice-chair of the Republican Party of Texas, during a service at Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
Towleroad reported on David Barton (http://www.towleroad.com/2012/09/david-barton-thinks-gay-rights-means-us-going-down-video.html) last year when he claimed that America, as a nation, was "going down" for supporting same-sex marriage.

The full quote, via RightWingWatch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ajDtKzZW2Ik):
"Starbucks is pouring all this money into destroying tradtional marriage (http://www.towleroad.com/2013/03/starbucks-ceo-to-shareholder-you-can-sell-your-shares-if-you-dont-like-companys-support-for-marriage.html). The question is, can a Christian give money to a group he knows will use it to attack what God supports. If you know that when you buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks that 5, 10, 15 cents is going to be used to defeat marriage, can you do that? The answer is no. Biblically, there's no way a Christian can help support what is attacking God. I'm sorry, you've got to find some other coffee to drink. You can't drink Starbucks and be biblically right on this thing. It's just a real simple principle."

I would say there is a lot more to it than that.

Gays haven't destroyed marriage. That was accomplished by you idiots who wanted government involved in a private contract between consenting individuals.

I occasionally frequent Starbucks (in large part because there are no other options for what I buy from there) - I don't care what the company's politics is, so long as they don't give money away to unethical causes like Chik-Fil-Gay did with Exodus International.

Opposing marriage equality is one thing, thinking you can cure homosexuality is another. I enjoy In-N-Out Burger - which is a staunchly Christian business.

I like Starbucks coffee but generally do biz at the smaller mom and pop shops in town because I like supporting the small businesses when I can and it doesn't cost me more $.

I find it a rather irrelevant issue myself and wish they would call for a boycott of GMO's or something like that instead.

There were rumors while back that Starbucks was supporting oppression of Palestinians human rights and some US Churches had called for its boycott in 2008 apparently.

Unlike most Americans, I happen to know just how great the average Gazan has it. Far from being an open-air concentration camp, Gaza is a wonderful place to live.

and if Starbucks actually had a stance on the conflict that I agreed with, I'd go there daily.

This pastor is clearly not a christian.

I'd rather boycott SB for overpriced products and they give money to the Israeli government.

Entirely this.

There are a thousand reasons to avoid Starbucks, and few if any redeeming qualities. The hand of men can only prevail against an institution of God, when men rip that authority away from God and take it unto themselves where they can corrupt it. Marriage is only in danger in the first place because we, in our best of intentions, had already corrupted it ourselves. I see two children fighting over possession of a ball that was stolen from a third. Justice will only be served and the blessing restored when the ball is restored to the third. The third is God, and until we give marriage back to Him, then there will just be no peace in that domain. :(

The taste of Starbucks coffee almost seems as if the roasting process involves a big Microwave at some point.

They nuke their coffee beans. I mean I like a dark roast but damn their coffee is Char Roast.

Not the Starbucks I've been to. I've seen some really cute college age girls there as well as a bombshell 40 year old cougar wearing tall leather boots... yummy! Of course, this was in a mall.

They use some Italian method called "double roasting." I just call it "burnt."
