View Full Version : What's sad is this 'zero tolerance' to a 'toy gun' the size of a quarter doesn't shock me

any more. My first thought was 'at least he only got detention and had to write an apology and wasn't suspended with a 'gun disturbance' on his record like that kindergartener who SPOKE of her bubble gun toy she had at home...

a whole series of revolting stories along this line are at link: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/05/29/6-year-old-given-detention-forced-to-apologize-after-bringing-this-seriously-tiny-plastic-gun-on-school-bus/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I would have to see this actually happen in person, because my mind can't compute the stupidity involved with creating a shitstorm over a lego gun, or whatever it is.

Behavior such as this by adults is absolutely insane.

Gun safety was taught in school when I was a kid..

Used to be kids were programmed to avoid premarital sex and taught gun safety...

Now kids are programmed to avoid guns and are taught how to have safe sex..

There's got to be a profound euphemism there somewhere...

I'm afraid I'd need to put on magnifying glasses in order to determine that the bit of plastic portrayed represented a "gun"...

They are just preparing them to be older. That is real life, bullshit charges.

From the article: “At 6 years old, I don’t really think he understood the zero tolerance policy and related it to this as the same,” she added.

Well...this grown man doesn't understand this stupid "zero tolerance" policy either. Good grief. That doesn't even look like a toy gun. It looks like something he cobbled together. Maybe that's the real threat. The kid has an imagination. The state and the school has to stomp it out while they still can!

A toy gun is one thing. What you are advocating right there is an overthrow of the government. Terrorism.

I knew a guy who got in trouble once for "undermining the authority of school officials." His response at the time? "They do a pretty good job of undermining their own authority."

Zero tolerance is just a step towards zero credibility.
