IDAHO FALLS — Authorities shot and killed a dog Monday evening after they say the dog aggressively charged at an officer.
According to the Idaho Falls Police Department report, a call came into dispatch just before 7 p.m. with regards to an incident where officers attempted to serve a warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of Irving Street.
As the IFPD officers walked up to the residence, a dog reportedly ran aggressively towards one of the officers.
The other officer pulled his gun and fired multiple times killing the dog, according to a news release.
Witnesses told police the dog had shown aggressive behavior on other occasions in the neighborhood.
