View Full Version : "Hotties 4 Ron Paul" 2008 Calendar*

Hi, Everyone ~

Want to introduce you to a new project, my latest exercise in "thinking outside the box". This will be a 2008 wall calendar, "Hotties 4 Ron Paul" These will be sold on line (target date December 15th in time for the Holidays!) and at the Hollywood event "Rock 4 Ron Paul" in January. Since we sure have good-looking people here in our MeetUp groups we can capitalize on that, make some $ for Ron Paul and most likely garner some great media attention!

In fact the wheels have already been put in motion for some media attention. I was interviewed by a reporter for the LA Times Friday, Nov 16th, and described the idea to him as well as giving him the site, which will be www.Hotties4RonPaul.com . Cool, huh?

The concept is to get great-looking models who are active in the MeetUp Groups, blogs or other ways, supporting Ron Paul. For each month I'd like to include on the calendar not just a beautiful shot of some Hottie babe in a star-spangled bikini or Hottie dude in a bicep-hugging Ron Paul T-shirt, but also to feature a quote from Ron Paul on one of the key political issues. We'd also include a short blip on the MeetUp Hottie, where they are from, what they do, what they like about Ron Paul, etc.

I found an on line printer who will do 100 saddle-stitched calendars for a discount price of $6.38 each. This looks like the best deal. The cost doesn't include shipping costs, however. IF possible, I'd like to find a cheap printer source such as a Ron Paul supporter who owns a printing business who wants to cut us a great deal. Please let me know if you know anyone. Thanks!

I already have some great models lined up including Liv, the "Ron Paul Girl" and Gina Dumania. Working on getting Michelle Shinghal who was interviewed on Tucker Carlson's show and a girl who is a big RP supporter with the very popular and very RP-supportive blog, "Just a Girl in Short Shorts", Becky Chandler.

I know some great photographers who would like to get involved in this, so that's not a problem. For marketing reasons (not to be sexist, but realistic ;)) I'm making this calendar mostly of females, with only 2 or three dudes. So I'm looking for some ladies who have pics of themselves or just ideas for shots, that are fun, sexy (but tasteful, of course), with a patriotic/Ron Paul supporting theme. We can be creative with this, maybe having a girl dressed as the Statue of Liberty, another girl who represents freedom of speech with certain props, etc.

Please let me know if you'd be interested in lending your looks for the "Hotties 4 Ron Paul" 2008 calendar. I want to keep it diverse and we've got lots of blonds on board, so if you're a red-head, or of another ethnic variety, we would sure love to see you on a page.

I might also need some help with the lay-out and other art issues. Need to get the template from the printer first. Will do that tomorrow unless some one has a cheaper printer for us!

This'll be fun! Thanks so much! Looking forward to hearing back from you ~

Keeping the Fun in Freedom,:)

What if you did it vintage "pin up girl" style? Vargas style?

Yes! There absolutely HAS to be a Ron Paul calendar! 2008 is the Year of Ron.

More info than a slim-jim, slowly seeping into the consciousness of those that see it, for 10 months prior to the election. We should have thought of this earlier! Collective-D'Oh! Oh well, good to see you're on it now.

I think you need to reconsider your scale of operations. We should be looking at doing runs of 5,000 or 10,000 (at least), professionally produced, with high production values. Just handling the logistics for sales and distribution can be a nightmare. It's a big task, and you'll be stretching to get it done in the time-frames available will be very tight. Perhaps there are places that are set up to handle such activities, sort of like Cafe-Press? Or one of the already established Ron Paul gear websites.

This is a very ambitious project, logistically. Obviously, you can just set the basic protocols, and then get the girls and their local meet-ups to arrange the shoots locally, in a grassroots, decentralized manner. You run the risk of it looking a little disjointed, in that case, but I suppose that's just grassroots "flavoring"!

But, please, no dudes in the Paulette-calendar! It's such a hold-your-nose type thing for a good 2-3 months of the year! Won't you girls be happy with a calendar with 12 months of Ron Paul? There's a thread with some fantastic Ron Paul shots in there. Copyright and licensing may be an issue for some though, and would need to be checked. Or put together a separate one with 12 months of all guys.

FYI, there's a ex-Playboy bunnie / Baywatch babe with a page on myspace where she declares she's a full-on Paulette. Somebody will proffer a link, I'm sure.

Don't be shy when charging for them, either. People will shell out for an expensive one when they know it's for such a good cause. I think you may have to run the sales through one of the PACs, else you'll probably not be able to push the profits back into the official campaign. Unless you had more grassroots plans for the money.

Hey, you reckon you could get some key money-bomb dates featured in there? There's another thread on such, so hopefully they'll be firmed up enough to put some key fundraising and campaign-related dates in there.

Well, I guess as one of those 'prude' types <I AM LDS after all>, I would prefer a PG13 calendar that is also work safe in a corporate environment. Bikinis tend to get a bit too much <or is it too little> for corporate wall space. I love the pin up idea though. Especially when you can make 'Revolution' sexy and 'safe'.

Yeah, I also love the idea of pinups in patriotic garb. Much better than a cheap thrills bikini poster...

Get in touch with Lady Jade/Rachel Mills. She played a big role in a Ladies of Liberty calendar, which raised funds for Libertarians. She might be able to give you some pointers. She appeared on Bill O'Reilly's show and others to promote the calendar.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could use the pictures once they are done for other purposes?
Have the girl sign an 8x10 to a soldier and include some Ron Paul stuff and sent it to Iraq.
We're in a war...might as well have the pin up girls to go along with it.

Wow! I am so psyched. Thank you to all of you for your encouragement, support and great ideas for costumes, poses etc. Love the Vargas shots adn will get my models to make that happen. I have a GREAT photographer here on board in LA. Girls in other states will have to get their own shots.

I have a feeling that this will be very BIG! I would like to do a much larger initial first run, but of course do not have the funds for it. I did get myself a "Chip-in" account so that people who want to help with the getting this off the ground costs can chip in. Gotta run to work now, but I wanted to get feedback on that to check interest. What do you all think? Found a printer on line "Print Pelican" that will do a volume of 1000 for $3056.81, which is a really great price at just over $3 ea, right? Do you think I can get 3 G's donated to get us the first run of 1000?

By the way, I'd love to get the MySpace page for that girl some one mentioned who was a Ron Paul supporter and former playboy bunny! Thanks again - oh, and don't worry, this will all be very tasteful and yes informative for those who might be just buying it for "hotness" reasons!

Don't ask for $3,000 to get it printed. Just start taking pre-paid, pre-orders, at, say, $20(?)/pop. Give the go-ahead when it is clear you'll have the bill covered. I'm sure you'll get orders for 150 pretty quickly.

A great Christmas gift idea for those that you have to buy something for (along with RP's "A Foreign Policy of Freedom").

$17/calendar profit x (say) 5,000 = $85,000 to campaign!

p.s. Seen your profile... make sure you're one of the pin-ups! :D

Personally, I think there should be an optional nude version. I happen to be a big advocate of nudity, but I do realize there is a pervasive hysteria about nakedness in this country. Anyway, Juliet, you will keep us posted with you progress won't you? I'm pretty sure everyone who reads this forum would buy one or two or three.

I don't think this is the time to be pushing for full nudity, but even NFL teams publish swimsuit calendars. Be sure to point that out to people who are offended by this. And there will be people who are offended by this.

Hey, guys! The line-up is shaping up :)(pun intended?) very nicely now. I DID get Liv, Michelle Shinghal (of Strippers for Ron Paul and actually, though she does NOT look it, a grandmother!). I contacted Lisa of the Redheads site (Thanks for that!)and hope to hear from her tomorrow...I DO want an Asian girl and sent one girl a note from FaceBook. I am really all across the WWW and its social networking schema with this! I found a Latina on a MeetUp called "Latinos for Ron Paul". I hope she accepts my invitation...:o

Many thanks for the pics of Vargas girls. Great stuff! :cool:We are going with that as a theme. If any of you have ideas for poses and costumes relevant to Ron PAul, his message and seasons of the year, let me know!

I personally love nudity, guys, but I'm already getting some weird and prudish remarks  from oddly enough some people at an artists' MeetUp group! I want to get the media attention but not total drama - hah! :p

Oh, and yes, I will be one of the calendar girls. Doin' it for my country!

Keep the ideas coming, please. You're helping me out so much here!

Much Gratitude to you all ~

Ok so each month covers a Ron Paul issue? Maybe that will be better than having say, a santa pin-up girl in Dec (hollow).

So...what are the 12 best issues to address??
Hey, Juliet!!!...Is the calander going to be 12, 14, 16 months?

1. Bring our troops home.
2. Defend the Constitution
http://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/images/varga-girl-in-revolutionary-war-uniform.jpg
3. Health Care freedom
4. November should be something like "defending our right to choose" - Election Day is November 5th, 2008.

Beautiful, intelligent women support Paul

I was watching these cute chicks wearing "Ron Paul 4 President" T-shirts and trying to figure out why they were so hot for him. I figured they were airheads until they started quoting passages from Federalist Paper No. 10 that was published way back when in New York to garner support for passage of the U.S. Constitution.

These beauties explained that Ron Paul wants to get the federal government out of our lives, and abolish the federal income tax. So, I registered Republican so I could vote for Ron Paul, who is a physician (he's delivered more than 4,000 babies). Now I get invited to beer parties to discuss his campaign. Politics are great.

There is a Meetup group called Stanislaus Ron Paul Support Group on the Internet (http://tinyurl.com/3dw2a9).

#1. GREAT Idea.

#2. NO guys --- this may have already been cleared up, I'm just skimming the posts.

#3. If you really stick this and do it right, you're going to sell TONS of them.

#4. Need models? Get ahold of Dennis Hof at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch (he's endorsed Ron Paul) --- I'm sure he could help you out with models if needed.

#5. Depending on the price, I'll be good for 25-50 copies depending on the price and if we get at least a small, rough draft at some point in the future. If it looks good (and I am sure it will), you'll get lots of people who will want to buy them for their Ron Paul buddies who have garages, machine shops, hunting camps, etc. I'll definitely give a bunch of copies to hardcore NY Ron Paul'rs who might not have the means at xmas to buy one.

Great idea!!! Definitely follow-through on this and create a fantastic finished product --- it will definitely make a press headline (if you do the tasteful modeling which it sounds like you will be doing) and I'm betting you'll have lots and lots of orders.

Good luck!

Hi guys,

Thank again for the support, here. This helps me to figure out how big the first run should be. Just read about the Dennis Hof support and am thinking about contacting him about a Latina model...a little apprehensive about inviting the whole "prostitution" issue into the mix. Personally I have NO moral issues with this, but I want to know if any of you guys think that the inclusion of a girl from the Bunny Ranch might keep some people from ordering calendars. I have students, moms and ex-strippers now with us.

Comments and advice, please?

Thanks!

About the price, it's looking like $20 for pre-orders ($10 for cost sent to me and $10 sent to the campaign as a donation) and $25 after Dec. 16th. Thoughts on that? Fair?

I think that maybe you should not include the bunny girl...just to be on the safe side.

Pricing sounds fair for a good quality calander.

P.S. How about having some autographed copies in a drawer somewhere that you can sell on ebay after word gets out.

this is a cute idea. no nudity though, nothing further needs to be done to make people think that Ron Paul supporters are licentious, libertine people (even if some of them are!) The retro, sexy yet covered up pics people have posted are great.

you should not include any "professionals" (whatever profession that might be ;) )
it should be regular, grassroots supporters to get the most positive attention

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch guy has gotten more publicity lately than Ron Paul has. Prostitutes in the calendar would not do Ron Paul any favors.

I would really like to see this get done. I would also like it to be a NOT For-Profit company. Could a PAC for buying TV ads, offer calendars to people who donate a certain amount of money, like Public TV give away stuff for $100 donations?

Now that's a good idea! There are many such marketing ideas for this.

Seriously, Juliet, I think you should be thinking bigger - a print run of 1000 is not going to be enough, and you're going to leave yourself short at the most critical time of the year for people buying calendars!

***
Edit:

Maybe we should think about sending them to media personalities, too, as a little Chrissie gift from the Ron Paul Grassroots supporters? Jack, Wolf, Tucker, etc.

Still looking for a Latino lady, Juliet? Perhaps you should put your request out to the main grassroots board, rather than this subforum.

This is getting done right now at 2:30am as I photo-shop pics and edit the girls' bios! Our release date is to be December 16th in time for the Tea Party! We will be giving a few calendars to people in the media (TV, Newspapers, etc.) for review and interviewing purposes only. I am fronting this project with my own money. The website will be Hotties4RonPaul.com and should be up in 1-2 days!

Many thanks to all of the great people here who have and are helping me with their great suggestions!

Juliet, Have you put any thought into how you will get the proceeds through to the campaign? If you are doing it personally, then you will be up against the $2300 limit. If you are donating to a PAC you will be up against the $5000 limit.

Maybe it should be done under the banner of a PAC, so that they could pay you for the work, and profits would just remain within the PAC, enabling ready disbursement to Ron Paul specific campaigning? You could talk to someone like Lord Xar about doing it through his PAC. I'm sure he'd be prepared to help.

Doing it through a PAC, most sales would be <$200, too, so there would be no need for them to collect name/address for submission to FEC, either.

At the mall the other day I saw calendars for Rudy, Barack, Hillary . . . but no Paul, and it struck me as a great idea, but THIS SOUNDS FAR BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED!

Great idea!

Here's my take based on what I've read (sorry I'm late to the mix, but put me down for one regardless)

YAYs
1) YES to the tasteful, work-safe take
2) YES to the classic, pin-up take
3) YES to the different Ron Paul issue each month -- maybe with a profound quote from a founder (or Reagan or any universally respected figure, etc.) followed by a similar quote from Paul
4) YES to a limited number of autographed ones for auction on E-Bay (if legalities allow)

NAYs
5) NO links to prostitution / escorts for models

MY ADDITIONAL IDEAS: (sorry if they've been posted) . . .
1) Set up a special way for people to order one for for a soldier in Iraq / Afghanistan.
2) Maybe even request Paul to autograph these (could be qty prohibitive, of course).
3) Perhaps even direct the profits from these "soldier sales" to a Christmas fund for the troops or something, a card to their families or something. Or maybe even better, the proceeds could go to the veterans. For example, if (conservatively) 5,000 buy a calendar at $15 profit each, that's $75k for the campaign -- however, if those 5,000 also spring for another calendar as a gift to some anonymous soldier, that's $75k in good will to the troops -- kind of a return on the contribution from the campaign the majority of them have contributed to.

LASTLY, this is a great idea and could go over very well if done right. I think if done in some charitable way to support the soldiers as well as the campaign, it could REALLY take off.

Just wondering . . . the calendar isn't going to be called "Hotties for Paul" is it?

I can't wait to see how it's coming along!

It would be cool for the calendar to highlight important political days (the election, absentee ballot deadlines, etc.), and maybe even historical key dates some a lot of people don't know about.

Hey, Guys ~

Here I am on a Saturday night sitting at my Mac in my pj's because I haven't really moved much since I got up! :p Working non-stop on making our deadline of Sunday night to get all the art together and write the back cover info. :o

Good news is I got a great web-designer/artist to help with designing our logo and the page. (Should be up in a couple days and the R.P. Forum team willbe the first to know!) I have to tell you guys that you have been the MOST helpful of anyone in making this happen! My MeetUp group (s) didn't seem nearly as enthusiastic! :confused:That's OK, one of them introduced me to a reporter for the LA Times and that resulted in my getting my name adn 2 quotes from me on the front page article on Saturday Dec 1st's morning edition!

About the election dates, etc. being include on th calendar, I have to speak with my printer and hope this is an option...so might one of you be so kind as to research these actual dates for me and send me a list of the important dates to include? That would save me a little time!:D

Oh, and it looks like 3 or 4 of our models will be attending the Tea Party here in LA Dec. 16th, so I hope to see you there! We'll have calendars with us for sale then, of course. :)

Can you give a little teaser of what to expect?

Will it be vintage-style? Work safe? Quote from Paul on each month, etc.? How big is your first run of calendars? Do you plan a 2nd run (depending on success of the first, etc.)? In short I guess more of the "master plan" you alluded to at one point instead of the "teaser" I requested. I'm excited about the prospects on this -- it's awesome that it will be such a different direction from the other candidates' calendars -- like everything the Paul campaign does is!

Regarding dates, right off, I think there is still some fluidity to the GOP Primary dates, but Feb 5 is Super Tuesday. The presidential election is November 4.

I think a lot of the other dates vary by state, so I'm not sure it's feasible to include them.

Well, I guess someone should step up, and it might as well be me. I'm assuming this is a 2008 calendar, so I'll leave out Dec 07 events (I haven't read most of this thread).

...

Ok, just finished. God damn, what a miserable painful experience that was. I've separated the groupings so you can decide what information you have room for. Obviously the primary/caucus dates are the most important, but if you can, include the registration and party change deadlines, too.

Primary/Caucus Dates

01.03 IA
01.05 WY
01.08 NH
01.15 MI
01.19 NV, SC
01.29 FL
02.01 ME
02.05 AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, GA, IL, MA, MN, MO, NJ, NY, ND, OK, TN, UT
02.09 LA, KS
02.12 DC, MD, VA
02.19 WA, WI
03.02 HI
03.04 OH, RI, TX, VT
03.11 MS
04.22 PA
05.06 IN, NC
05.13 NE, WV
05.20 KY, OR
05.27 ID
06.03 MT, NM, SD

Voter Registration Deadlines

01.06 AK, AR, NY, ND, TN
01.07 AZ, CO, GA
01.08 IL
01.09 LA, MO
01.10 WA
01.11 OK
01.12 DE
01.13 DC
01.14 VA
01.15 NJ
01.16 MA, MN
01.21 CA, UT
01.22 MD
01.25 KS
01.26 AL
01.31 WI
02.01 HI
02.02 RI
02.03 OH
02.04 CT, TX
02.10 MS
02.27 VT
03.24 PA
04.06 NC
04.07 IN
04.22 KY, WV
04.28 NE
04.29 OR
05.02 ID
05.05 MT
05.06 NM
05.19 SD

Party Change Deadlines

01.06 UT
01.18 ME

And two states still have bills in committee to move their dates, so even this list is subject to change. The more I learn about the election process, the more I hate it.

The site is up for pre-orders . . .

http://www.hotties4ronpaul.com/lib/images/h4rp_splash_1.jpg

http://www.hotties4ronpaul.com/
The much anticipated, "Hotties 4 Ron Paul" calendars are now available for pre-sale at a special pre-order discounted rate, but only until our official release date of December 16th, 2007, at the Los Angeles Tea Party ’07 Celebration!
Please read carefully for ordering instructions below:
For immediate Pre-order, calendars are $10 each (to cover cost alone) sent to my paypal account + an e-mailed receipt from headquarters (www.RonPaul2008.com) showing a donation from you made to the Ron Paul Campaign (www.RonPaul2008.com) of $10 per each calendar, using the code word "Juliet" in the specially-allotted code section after the forward slash (/). This e-mail receipt must be forwarded to: Hotties4RonPaul@Hotmail.com. Thank you!

Please note: Your order cannot be processed until we have received a forwarded e-mail of your donation to the campaign.
This then comes to a total price for pre-ordered calendars of $20 (plus $2.50 each, for shipping and handling on domestic orders).

Note: Overseas orders can be shipped for an additional shipping charge of $8.
As soon as I receive this and have the calendars printed (December 16th!) I will send them out! The cost price of the calendars will go up to $15 for orders received after midnight on December 15th (plus shipping $2.50 and of course the $10 minimum contribution to the Ron Paul Campaign), so order early as we are expected to sell out quickly!

A PERSONAL NOTE HERE: I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THIS WOULD BE A TASTEFUL, "WORK-SAFE"-TYPE OF CALENDAR. The "bumper sticker" picture was just a "goof off" as per the blog, but then with this picture on the actual site, it makes me wonder. Just curious Juliet -- can you give more info on the content of the calendar? Both pictures & format, etc.. Also, is the calendar called simply "Hotties for Ron Paul"?

I had my web-guy switch that shot to the one that will actually be on our cover, which is the raciest photo of all and very mild at that. No nudity, just short shorts, a few bikinis, and some girls wearing dresses, OK?

Now, about ordering more than one, please just e-mail me with the total number of calendars that you would like, at Hotties4RonPaul@Hotmail.com and I will send you a link to allow you to forgo any additional shipping charges! Thanks for your patience.

About being maxed out, I did anticipate this one, and it's a little tricky...here's what we can do: I am currently not maxed out, though I want to be, :oso you can simply e-mail me with some indication that you are truly maxed out (I'm gonna believe you if you go to this trouble!) and I will make a note, accept payment from you through the site for the cost and shipping, and donate $10 to RonPAul208.com on your behalf myself.

I am planning to bring 150 calendars to the Tea Party "07 here in LA on the 16th and will use this same method for people who want to buy calendars there. ( I do feel that these are so educational and such a nice promotional item for Ron Paul and the movement that it will be worth it to get them out to people!;)) So I WILL be maxed out myself after I sell these 150 and an additional 50 more to people like yourself who are maxed out. I'm open to other ideas if/after this happens! Sorry if this is confusing.

Are you going to send out an email once you've rec'd our paypal $$ and the forward from the campaign?

Not trying to add to your work load....:o

I just want to add that Juliet rocked this project! I shot my pics in TX; she was on top of every question and, as a bonus, we got to enjoy some late night phone calls.

Too often, people get lazy and don't follow through on their commitments. I have to say that I've seen NONE of that either in this project nor the collective efforts of the REVOLUTION grass roots supporters. (Except, of course, from my own failure to get to a sign wave I'd planned to do once.)

Don't worry about the sign wave, there are always plenty of other opportunities to do that.

Thank you for your commitment in becoming Miss March. You did it for your country, you did it for the revolution. We are proud. :D

FEC rules prohibit someone from giving money to another for the purpose of donating, so you cannot collect money from people for the express purpose of donating it to the campaign. Your first method is probably fine for online purchases (prove they donated, send you money, get a calendar). For maxed out people and in-person sales, you're going to just have to say the price is $20, take the profit, and then do what you want with your profit. (hint hint)

The only other way would be to set up a PAC.

I am maxed out too and so hereby let Juliet know that it is fine to "profit" off my photo and do whatever she wishes with the cash. Hopefully she will soon be maxed out too! Perhaps there could be a "profit sharing" and donation plan for the other models who haven't yet maxed out.

Hmmm...Buy a calendar. You mean a calendar that I can't preview to make sure it is work safe? I am not asking someone else <government> to take care of me and tell me what is safe or not. :)

Actually, I believe I mentioned before using some of the unused shots. I will not buy a product sight unseen. However, reality is I will likely NOT be able to buy the calendar anyway, due to my own fiscal reality.

All the shots were very carefully cropped and prepped in photo-shop with quotes from Dr. Paul, Thomas Jefferson, etc place lovingly by yours truly! Unused shots would mean much more work by me to post!:( We will be showing more of the girls on the site, www.Hotties4RonPaul.com so check back frequently for updates!;)

I need to explain something here to everyone. I put up my own $ for the first printing of these so I am under a bit of pressure now to make back my initial investment. I need to work closely with my web designer to add content, find other sites who will trade links with us, et al.

Please if anyone has any ideas of further marketing let me know ASAP! Thanks so much!:D

This may have been said before but I don't recall it. I did read the whole thread but may have missed it anyway.

I was wondering why it was decided to go PG instead of nude. It sounds like it was a strategical decision rather then any modesty issues. Either is fine, great really, but I think we all know that nude gets more media attention. I just saw an article in a paper for "nudes of Wakefield", I believe that was the name. It a calendar that was created to call attention to their own issue. R rated stuff always seems to win when this is your goal. If I had to guess it would be that the clothes add a strong flavor to the period photos that would have been lacking otherwise. Is that about right?

Also, for people that are maxed out for the campaign why not pick a pet charity to send the excess money too? My personal favorite is Operation Live Free or Die. This is also good for people that live outside of the USA and cannot donate to the campaign anyway.

It's really nice to see another gressroots project underway and succeeding. Thank you Juliet for putting this all together and thanks to the rest of the models and staff that put it together.

The style of the calendar is pin-up girl/Vargas stye...much less risky than a nude calendar...although nobody has a problem with nudity in general. Also, lots of people were interested in something they could put up at work. This is also a money maker (money to be donated to the official campaign) and the other Ron Paul supporters (customers) liked the idea of a PG calendar. Also, Juliet will be sending copies to the media and hopefully we will get some MSM coverage and wouldn't it be a shame if they had to blur it out on the news?

I think the PG photos will actually stand out more than nude ones because nobody does photos like these anymore. IMO

Hi,

Thanks for your post! First I gotta tell you that the nudity issue is just a moot point. Sorry! :o

About your suggestion for the Max'd out...that's a good idea! First, though, I'll offer this until the calendars are gone: For everyone who is max'd out, they can go to my "Chip In" button for "H4RP Calendars for Vets" and contribute $10 there to send calendars to our vets. :DI have a few organizations in mind. One is the Paralyzed Veterans of America who I give to every year. If anyone has any ideas about other receptive vet organizations, please let me know, OK?

hi,

i love the calendar and mention it to all my non-paul friends. this is an excerpt from a blimp post. it was recommended i bring it here, sorry for the intrusion...

in order to illustrate this point, i'd like to pick on another of my favorite projects, the 'hotties 4 ron paul' calendar. it's not the sort of thing i can pose for, but it seems to have come out nicely enough. why isn't that project as big a deal as the blimp? only 1 google news hit? simple. it's not a publicity stunt. make a plan to send one calendar to every wounded soldier in america, and get that goal into the mind of the media, schedule visits from the models (or likely looking surrogates) at major va hospitals and veterans events (2 points if you can think of why a wounded soldier might vote for dr paul... make that 3, have you heard how great his people are about supporting vets?), then raise enough money to make it happen, and 'bingo' you would have a publicity stunt - and a pretty good one (imagine the tear-streaked faces next to wounded veterans on camera to get people to look at more than the financial cost of this war).

this would be 30,000+ calendars, and things may not be setup to handle that. i haven't ordered one yet because we are working on saving for the 16th - so no discount :)
and i agree with kelly, i just imagine being a ron paul hottie inside :)

Also, when you can, can you add some info to the hotties site about these charitable efforts that you will hopefully be pursuing?

Thanks for your support, Errin! About the Hotties 4 Ron Paul Calendar being as big as 30,000 to every wounded soldier, that is a really big and beautiful idea! :p Unfortunately, at this point, I am doing pretty much EVERYTHING on this myself. I contacted all the models, wrote letters to them asking for their participation, begged and pleaded with some of them to make our deadline for their pics and bios, thought up ideas for all the concepts (with some style-tip help from Kelly here!), personally art-directed 6 photo-shoots right here at my little apartment, convinced my photographer friend, Fred Barham to shoot them all, did about 90% of the photo-shopping (with some help from Fred!), posted it on 5 MeetUps, here, wrote all the copy for the back page and 95% for the web-site (thankfully, my Michigan Dude helped me out on the FAQ Page!), I dealt with the printer and am still doing that..now I'm trying to exchange links with every Ron Paul site I can, since we just got our banner together. My Calendar girl Gina D. is putting up a MySpace page for us (hopefully tomorrow!) :)and well, I THINK you get the idea here!

At this point, I need to make back my initial investment of a few thousand dollars which for ME is a very large sum of money! I would LOVE to see this take off to a sum of 30,000 plus, but I don't have that kind of backing money at this time. Maybe if we can get Trevor Lyman to work with me on this, who knows? All I know is that I need to take this one calendar at a time. If the numbers go up, then the sky will be the limit! What you all can do to help me is:

1. Buy a calendar now.
2. Call radio stations/TV people and tip them off about this - it IS kind of sexy and unique, right?;)
3. Dig the articles and press it already has received!
4. Oh, and if anyone out there has a site or MySpace or any where else they can put a banner for me, here are two for you, one small and one big.

A cheap way to send free calendars to troops/veterans is to email PDF files.

Another option if for some of our code monkeys to design an RP calendar as a Firefox plugin.
