If allegations are true, this torture would be far worse than Abu Ghraib. This apparenty has been a big story in Afghanistan but US media had been giving it a pass for the most part.
If claim about torture video is factual, not sure if Obama team will be able to keep it from becoming public in US.

Afghan Officials: Body of US Torture Video Victim Found Near Base Wardak Torture Victim's Footless Corpse Just 200 Yards From Base

May 21, 2013

The complaints about Afghan-American torturer Zakaria Kandahari took an ugly turn for the worse today, as Afghan officials announced that the victim in a torture video showing Kandahari was discovered just 200 yards outside (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/22/world/asia/torture-victims-body-is-found-near-us-base-afghans-say.html)of the US military base at which he was stationed.

The victim, a Wardak Province civilian named Sayid Mohammad, had disappeared into the custody of US Special Forces before the video emerged last week (http://news.antiwar.com/2013/05/12/american-accused-of-torturing-disappearing-afghan-civilians/) showing Kandahari torturing him. The US denied the video showed US troops, but Kandahari was heard taking instructions from an unseen man with an American accent.

Mohammad’s fate was a mystery until laborers digging a ditch just outside of the base at which Kandahari was said to be stationed uncovered a “military-style black body bag,” with most of Mohammad’s corpse inside. Both feet were missing, and still unaccounted for.
The grim story is part of the ongoing fight among Wardak residents to see US special forces removed from the region, and follows the similar disappearance of Mohammad Qassim, another local whose body was found at a trash pit outside the base after his own “detention.”

Afghans Claim to Have Video of US Special Forces Guy Torturing Civilians

Afghan officials say they’ve got video of a man overseeing the torture of Afghan civilians. Exactly who ordered the man to torture is a matter of fierce dispute — and also helps explain this year’s erosion of trust between Washington and Kabul.
Allegedly, there’s a videotape in Afghan government hands showing a man named Zakaria Kandahari presiding over the torture of an Afghan civilian who, along with 15 others, recently disappeared from Wardak Province. According to the New York Times, Kandahari, an American citizen, is “seen conducting” the torture session and “supervising” others.

Afghan woman recounts how US soldier killed her husband in rampage; case set for court-martial

Published May 16, 2013

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Sitting on a dirty straw mat on the parched ground of southern Afghanistan, Masooma sank deeper inside a giant black shawl. Hidden from view, her words burst forth as she told her side of what happened to her family sometime before dawn on March 11, 2012.
According to Masooma, an American soldier wearing a helmet equipped with a flashlight burst into her two-room mud home while everyone slept. He killed her husband, Dawood, punched her 7-year-old son and shoved a pistol into the mouth of his baby brother.

"We were asleep. He came in and he was shouting, saying something about Taliban, Taliban, and then he pulled my husband up. I screamed and screamed and said, 'We are not Taliban, we are not government. We are no one. Please don't hurt us,'" she said.
The soldier wasn't listening. He pointed his pistol at Masooma to quiet her and pushed her husband into the living room.
"My husband just looked back at me and said, 'I will be back.'" Seconds later she heard gunshots, she recalled, her voice cracking as she was momentarily unable to speak. Her husband was dead.

The AP also interviewed other villagers about the case, all of whom are identified by the U.S. Army as witnesses or relatives of witnesses. They included a sister and brother who were wounded and two men who were away during the killings and returned to find wives and children slain. The sister and brother told AP how they tried to run away and hide from a soldier with a gun, only to be shot — and see their neighbors and grandmother killed.
U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales of Lake Tapps, Washington, is accused of the killings. Prosecutors say Bales slipped away from his remote outpost to attack two nearby villages, returning in the middle of the rampage and then for a final time soaked in blood.

Neocons plant Obama could be implcated in another torture case if these reports are grounded in facts:

Afghan colonel arrested in prisoner torture case; U.S. link suspected

(Reuters) - An Afghan army colonel has been arrested by the government for illegally handing over prisoners to a man working with a U.S. special forces team that was accused of torture and killings, three sources have told Reuters.
The rare arrest of a senior military officer underlines the resolve of Kabul in cracking down on excesses in the 12-year-long civil war ahead of an election next year.

It also plays into government efforts to distance itself from the West as it woos Taliban insurgents to join peace talks ahead of the withdrawal of international combat troops in 2014.
Reports earlier this year that villagers detained by security forces in the Nerkh district of Wardak province were being tortured or killed led to a serious rupture between Afghan authorities and the U.S.-led multinational force. Afghan President Hamid Karzai later ordered all Western troops out of Nerkh.
A senior Afghan government official in Kabul and two officials with international organisations said the colonel, who was based in Wardak, had admitted to handing over several prisoners to a man known as Zakeria Kandahari, a shadowy figure who has spent years working with U.S. forces.
All three sources have access to investigations into the case but spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the subject.
Both Kandahari, who was based in Nerkh, and the U.S. troops there are accused by the Afghan government of committing human rights abuses or complicity.
Kandahari has not been seen in public since early January, according to people in the area and several officials said his name was likely to be an alias. It was not possible to obtain the colonel's name or contact his family or a lawyer representing him.
A senior U.S. military official and the senior Afghan official based in Kabul said Kandahari was working with or for the Americans at the time the prisoners were handed over to him. The senior U.S. official told Reuters Kandahari had no official status with U.S. forces in Wardak.
"This colonel was handing over detainees to Kandahari, thinking that Kandahari worked for the (U.S.) special forces and they had the authority to question any detainee," the Afghan official said.

"This was irresponsible and that's why (the colonel) was himself detained and is being investigated," he said.

CIA, "KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation-July 1963"5
"The effectiveness of most of the non-coercive techniques depends on their unsettling
effect. The interrogation situation is in itself disturbing to most people encountering it for
the first time. The aim is to enhance this effect...[and to create] a traumatic or subtraumatic
experience which explodes, as it were, the world that is familiar to the subject
as well as his image of himself in that world."

"Usually his own clothes are taken away because familiar clothing reinforces identity and
thus the capacity for resistance."

"The following are the principal coercive techniques of inter-rogation: arrest, detention,
deprivation of sensory stimuli through solitary confinement or similar methods, threats
and fear, debility, pain, heightened suggestibility and hypnosis, narcosis, and induced
regression."

CIA, "Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual-1983"6
"Control—The capacity to cause or change certain types of human behavior by implying
or using physical or psychological means to induce compliance. Compliance may be
voluntary or involuntary."

"Subject is brought into the facility blindfolded and handcuffed and should remain so
during the entire processing...Subject is completely stripped and told to take a shower.

Blindfold remains in place while showering and guard watches throughout. Subject is
given a thorough medical examination, including all body cavities."

"Allowing a subject to receive carefully selected letters from home can help create an
effect desired by the 'questioner'; for example, the subject may get the idea that his
relatives are under duress or suffering. A suggestion at the proper time that his
cooperation or confession can help protect the innocent may be effective."

"Bedding should be minimal—cot and blanket—no mattress. (The idea is to prevent the
subject from relaxing and recovering from shock.) There should be no built-in toilet
facilities. The subject should have to ask to relieve himself. Then he should either be
given a bucket or escorted by a guard to the latrine. The guard stays at his side the entire
time he is in the latrine."

"Deprivation of sensory stimuli induces stress and anxiety. The more complete the
deprivation, the more rapidly and deeply the subject is affected."

Here's two prime examples of our policy that show this is not a one off occurence but a recurring theme.

Iran
The notorious Iranian security service, SAVAK, which employed torture routinely, was
created under the guidance of the CIA and Israel in the 1950s.9 According to a former
CIA analyst on Iran, Jesse J. Leaf, SAVAK was instructed in torture techniques by the
Agency.10 After the 1979 revolution, the Iranians found CIA film made for SAVAK on
how to torture women.11

Honduras
During the 1980s, the CIA gave indispensable support to the infamous Battalion 316,
which kidnapped, tortured and killed hundreds of citizens, using shock and suffocation
devices for interrogation, amongst other techniques. The CIA supplied torture equipment,
torture manuals, and in both Honduras and the US taught battalion members methods of
psychological and physical torture. On at least one occasion, a CIA officer took part in
interrogating a torture victim. The Agency also funded Argentine counter-insurgency
experts to provide further training for the Hondurans. At the time, Argentina was famous
for its "Dirty War," an appalling record of torture, baby kidnappings and disappearances.
Argentine and CIA instructors worked side by side training Battalion 316. US support for
the battalion continued even after its director, Gen. Gustavo Alvarez Martinez, told the
US ambassador that he intended to use the Argentine methods of eliminating subversives.
In 1983, the Reagan administration awarded Alvarez the Legion of Merit "for
encouraging the success of democratic processes in Honduras." At the same time, the
administration was misleading Congress and the American public by denying or
minimizing the battalion's atrocities.26

Afghans protest against US forces after discovery of mutilated bodies

guardian.co.uk (http://www.guardian.co.uk/), Tuesday 4 June 2013

When relatives identified three mutilated bodies dug up near a former US special forces base as their missing family members, they decided to take the corpses to the capital of restive Wardak province and organise a protest to spread word of their loss.
By noon on Tuesday, hundreds of people had flooded the streets of Maidan Shar town, blocking the main road to Kandahar and Kabul and shouting "Death to America" and "Death to special forces". By early afternoon two more men were dead and one seriously injured after police opened fire to control what they said was an increasingly violent crowd.
The three bodies were just the latest grisly discovery in the troubled Nerkh district, where locals say a string of civilians disappeared into a military base housing US special forces. They claim they were then tortured and killed. Their families blame American forces, although the base was shared with Afghan troops and a US military (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/us-military) spokesman strongly denied any abuses by foreign soldiers.

But locals have continued to blame US forces. "We have found 10 bodies of people killed by Americans in total, seven before and three more today, on the west side of the US base," said Sediqullah, a de-miner whose brother's body was one of the three found on Monday.

Greece, Iran, Germany, Vietnam, Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama......

The CIA helped to perfect the methods.

SAVAK (Persian: ساواک, short for سازِمانِ اطلاعات وَ امنیَتِ کِشوَر Sāzemān-e Ettelā'āt va Amniyat-e Keshvar, Organization of Intelligence and National Security) was the secret police, domestic security and intelligence service established by Iran's Mohammad Reza Shah with the help of the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (the CIA).[1] SAVAK operated from 1957 to 1979, when the Pahlavi dynasty was overthrown. SAVAK has been described as Iran's "most hated and feared institution" prior to the revolution of 1979 because of its practice of torturing and executing opponents of the Pahlavi regime [2][3]
.....

Sources disagree over how many victims SAVAK had and how inhumane its techniques were. Writing at the time of the Shah's overthrow, TIME magazine described SAVAK as having "long been Iran's most hated and feared institution" which had "tortured and murdered thousands of the Shah's opponents."[22] The Federation of American Scientists also found it guilty of "the torture and execution of thousands of political prisoners" and symbolizing "the Shah's rule from 1963-79." The FAS list of SAVAK torture methods included "electric shock, whipping, beating, inserting broken glass and pouring boiling water into the rectum, tying weights to the testicles, and the extraction of teeth and nails."[23]

And many more.

There is a manual speaking on mock executions and recorded family member's screams being played deafenly loud. Sick shit.

Their manual on methods for killing people was as disturbing if not more-so. Particularly with their words on throwing someone over a balcony at a very high height. Especially when you look into Frank Olson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Olson).

Afghans arrest alleged U.S. Special Operations translator on murder, torture charges

By Sayed Salahuddin, Sunday, July 7, 12:13 PM
KABUL — Afghanistan authorities have arrested a man who they say was a U.S. Special Operations translator who tortured and killed Afghans, accusations that prompted President Hamid Karzai to order the expulsion (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/us-karzai-agree-on-wardak-withdrawal/2013/03/20/1d50d892-9193-11e2-9173-7f87cda73b49_story.html) of U.S. forces from a province near Kabul, officials said Sunday.

Zakria Kandahari was captured in a house in southern Kandahar during a raid by agents from the National Directorate of Security nearly six weeks ago and has been transferred to Kabul for interrogations, officials said. Officials did not say why they waited to announce Kandahari’s arrest.

The joint enterprise has been closed for three months amid heightened tensions.

The Afghan government (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/us-commandos-begin-pullout-from-restive-afghan-province-as-demanded-by-karzai/2013/03/30/dde05cda-9950-11e2-97cd-3d8c1afe4f0f_story.html) issued an order for Kandahari’s arrest after local officials and residents alleged that he kidnapped villagers and executed detainees at a base used by U.S. Special Operations in Wardak province, where Afghan officials say he served as a translator for the forces.
The Kandahar governor’s office described Kandahari as holding Afghan-American citizenship.
Days of anti-American protests were held in the province at the time, leading to increased tension between Kabul and Washington. Earlier this year, the U.S.-backed NATO command here said past inquiries had found no evidence to support allegations of misconduct by U.S. Special Operations forces in Wardak. Afghan officials at the time said that Special Operations had told them its forces had no hand in the killings and abuses, and that Kandahari had fled.

“He had escaped from Wardak, where he worked as a translator for the Special Forces, and Karzai had issued his arrest order because of the reports of killings and torturing of some prisoners,” Javid Faisal, a spokesman for Kandahar’s governor, said Sunday.

Gen. Abdul Manan Farahi, head of the Defense Ministry’s intelligence department, confirmed Kandahari’s arrest. “I do not have further details on his arrest, except can confirm that he has been arrested on the accusations of some killing and persecuting the prisoners in Wardak,” he said.
Wardak residents and provincial officials said some weeks ago that near the Special Operations base they had found the bodies of some of the 19 villagers who had gone missing in Wardak,

Their manual on methods for killing people was as disturbing if not more-so. Particularly with their words on throwing someone over a balcony at a very high height. Especially when you look into Frank Olson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Olson).

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?421095-How-to-kill-people-By-The-CIA&highlight=cia+assassination

1. Manual.
It is possible to kill a man with the bare hands, but very few are skillful enoughto do it well. Even a highly trained Judo expert will hesitate to risk killing by hand unless he has absolutely no alternative.

However, the simplest local tools are often much the most efficient means of assassination. A hammer, axe, wrench, screw driver, fire poker, kitchen knife, lamp stand, or anything hard, heavy and handy will suffice. A length of rope or wire or a belt will do if the assassin is strong and agile. All such improvised weapons have the important advantage of availability and apparent innocence. The obviously lethal machine gun failed to kill Trotsky where anitem of sporting goods succeeded. In all safe cases where the assassin may be subject to search, either before or after the act, specialized weapons should not be used. Even in the lost case, the assassin may accidentally be searched before the act and should not carry an incriminating device if any sort of lethal weapon can be improvised at or near the site. If the assassin normally carries weapons because of the nature of his job, it may still be desirable to improvise and implement at the scene to avoid disclosure of his identity.

2. Accidents.
For secret assassination, either simple or chase, the contrived accident is the most effective technique. When successfully executed, it causes little excitement and is only casually investigated
