So get a friend to dodge the fair on the subway so you can rob a bank on the other side of town and promise to split the loot with your friend. All the cops will go to the subway.. leaving you unimpeded!

This is the most hilarious shit I've ever seen. At first I thought it was a typo, since I only saw 2 cops. Then I began to believe it a bit when I saw the next 2. Then 2 more came and I was like "OK no way more than 6 cops" Then the camera pans to the right and I see the rest.

This is the result of the police force only accepting those that score below a certain grade on their tests to become police officers. If you are too "smart" they don't want you because they doubt you will stay long, and they are probably right.

Leaves me wondering how many cops/sq.mile there are in the city..... Seems pretty saturated in this particular area.

One time a coworker and I were riding the subway in Munich and we hadn't paid because neither of us know German and we couldn't figure out how to buy a ticket from the vending machine. The conductor (or his helper, more likely) came along and asked to see our tickets. When we had none to show, wow, did he give us a dark look! I'm guessing he was able to figure out that we were just too stupid to buy them, and he accepted money and gave us tickets, no harm no foul. I think he was mostly upset that we had not followed the proper procedure more than actually not having tickets. That and the fact that because of us, he had to deviate from proper procedure to sell us tickets.

Well according to wikipedia the NYPD has an area of 468.9 square miles which they work on.
They have 34,500 uniformed police officers. So if at any given time 1/4th of them are on the job then you have about 18 cops / square mile.
I'm not sure how many are working simultaneously but if all of them were called up you'd almost have 74 police officers / square mile.

Quite a lot.
