There is supposed to be a vote on it in the Judiciary Committee tomorrow. It is terrible, and I'll tell my Senator who is on the Judiciary committee to vote against it.... but that is Feinstein, so I am not holding my breath.

Every special interest EXCEPT the people have a seat at the table and a costly provision in the bill, it seems.

Personally I don't mind the immigration of high-skilled Asians looking to work in the Silicon valley companies. It's the millions of Mexican peasants who bother me...

And what the hell is Rand Paul is doing right now? Defending Apple CEO is nice, but immigration battle is much more important.

Yeah, it feels like the people are the only ones who don't have a seat at the table. Sessions somewhat, DeMint from the sidelines, but no one looking at it sensibly. They are letting them paint it as between the 'racist bad people' and the 'Santa Claus to special interests squad'. Costs and self selection by health and for education, particularly with chain migration, multiples of those legalized, none of these common sense points are allowed the light of day.

There is high unemployment right now. There is no shortage of American workers to do the work, no matter if it's blue collar or high-tech.

So what's your line of business? Fruit-picker? Dish-washer? Grass-cutter?
My employment puts me in direct competition with the Asians, and I benefit economically from the Mexicans.
So I figure you must be an under-the-table wage slave to care about Mexicans coming here.

Hatch has lobbied to eliminate other restrictions on U.S. companies that require them to first offer jobs to Americans before looking overseas.
...
Hatch has aimed to satisfy an intense lobbying effort from tech companies to make it easier for them to hire foreigners...

You'd think the unemployment rate was zero.

Rand does not sit on the Judiciary committee which is basically a scam ran by Schumer.

He is releasing his floor amendments to the immigration bill this week.

The goal should be to dismantle this thing, not amend it. This is far, far more dangerous than the gun control bill. Manchin-Toomey only had potential to create gun registry. The Amnesty is not only guaranteed to blow up the deficit, it will accelerate the demographic change, with all of its disturbing political implications I talked about earlier.

No, I don't believe it is appropriate for the government to protect local workers from foreign competition. That's not the reason why I oppose the Amnesty.
