Hundreds of residents of Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem, were astounded Monday morning to see an oversized Nazi flag flying next to a mosque in the Arab town of Beit Omar.

The residents notified the IDF.

A resident, Uri Arnon, told the Tazpit News Agency: "I felt we were going back 75 years, losing our hold on the land. The Arabs no longer feel the need to hide their murderous tendencies, announcing out loud that they wish to annihilate us."

An IDF spokesman said that the flag was hung on an electrical line, and that they were waiting to professionals to come and remove it.

There was a guy in my old neighborhood that flew a nazi flag.

No one called the National Guard, either.

The Nazis had a complicated relationship with Muslims in the Middle East. Originally, Goebbels wanted to deport German Jews to Palestine but the British, fearing Muslim uprisings, said no. A few years later you had a Muslim division of the SS and the Germans helping the Iraqis trying to overthrow the British-sympathizing rulers there.

Looks like it was thrown over the lines with a weight.

Yeah, who knows if that is even the popular sentiment of that area.

There was someone who flew a nazi flag on our road. Definitely wasn't how most people there thought but it didn't make the news or anything. AFAIK no one said a thing about it either way. I think he still flies it.

Maybe someone should say a thing about it, though.

Honestly, what is wrong with calling out people who are aligning themselves with a regime that murdered millions of completely innocent people?

Is there any actual evidence that Arabs did this? I'll put on my skeptic hat until there is, because this sort of minor "false flag" is not a tactic that the IDF or Israeli gov't is hesitant to use.

If an Israeli had been flying the Nazi flag, the response on here would be one of resounding condemnation of all Israelis and it's very likely comparisons between the Palestinian "ZOG" and the 3rd Reich woud be being drawn right about now.

I suspect that's why it's in a position where it is hard to take down. If it were something those in the area wanted to display, I doubt it would be thrown over power lines like that. The way it is now, it's hard to get down without contacting the power company.

Well, because it is his property. He can fly whatever he chooses.

I assumed the man was a racist asshole and never gave it much more thought. I certainly never thought about using the local government to censor him. All he did was ostracize himself. Seems that was his intention though perhaps it was not. Either way, I don't much care. Now only if I can ever get neighbors to show me the same level of common courtesy, (mind their own business) I'd be a happy camper.

I don't know why this is news. I assume you posted it as a response to 'negative' Israel articles? You know why Israel articles are more common than Jordan articles? It is because of the unnatural influence on our foreign policy that Israel wields.

I'm a little shocked that the IDF was called. Arabs who hate Jews? Not so much.

Not that the Zionists in Israel haven't fostered some of that hatred.

Zionists were setting up colonization before the state of Israel existed with the help of and under the Flag of the Nazi's.(Haavara Agreement)

Learn some history.

As to this story,, there is no telling who hung that flag,,
some random shit stirrer
or the "journalist's" themselves,, just for a story.

From wikipedia:

Gush Etzion (Hebrew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language): גּוּשׁ עֶצְיוֹן, lit. Etzion Bloc) is a cluster of Israeli settlements (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_settlement) located in the Judaean Mountains (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaean_Mountains) directly south of Jerusalem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem) and Bethlehem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethlehem) in the West Bank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank), Palestinian territories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_territories). The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank) illegal under international law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_law_and_Israeli_settlements), but the Israeli government disputes this.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gush_Etzion#cite_note-3) In 2011, Gush Etzion consists of 22 settlements with a population of 70,000.[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gush_Etzion#cite_note-4)

compromise, would you prefer if the Palestinians were sending suicide bombers into that settlement, or something? The Nazi flag is very obvious psychological warfare: the Arab resistance knows that Jews are easily scared by any kind of Nazi symbols, which is why Nazi flag was used. No, that doesn't mean the Arabs support the national-socialist ideology or planning genocide. I very much doubt that these Palestinians knew anything about the Nazis, beyond the fact that Jews fear them for some reason...

The real issue is Gush Etzion settlement simply should have never existed. Do you expect the Arabs to simply sit on their hands, while the settlers steal their land?
