The Pentagon wants Congress to shift $9.6 billion of this year’s Defense Department budget toward expenses for the Afghanistan war, transportation and other items.

Moving $1.3 billion to the Army “to support funding shortfalls” in Afghanistan is the largest request, Bloomberg reports, citing budget documents. The Pentagon also wants to funnel $1 billion into the transportation budget to pay for higher-than-expected fuel costs.

The money would mostly come from smaller research programs and weapons-buying accounts, according to Bloomberg.

The Pentagon sent the request to Congress along with its $79.4 billion war-fighting budget proposal. The House Armed Services Committee will begin consideration of the defense bill next week.

The Defense Department is in the process of scaling back spending, as sequestration will shave $500 billion from its budget over the next 10 years.

The Pentagon said failing to honor its request “runs the risk of an interruption on the flow of supplies, subsistence and mail to deployed warfighters” in Afghanistan.

I read an article somewhere, probably here, that said a gallon of gas in Afghanistan costs the US upwards of $400

I'm no longer questioning when the economy will collapse. It's more like why the hell hasn't it already?

But Obama administration propaganda talking points has stated, they have reduced the OCO Overseas Contingency Operations for FY2014 from $88 Billion to $79.4. Billion.

But as you can witness, the budgets are so huge, there's so much "Classified Ops" expenditures, they are shifting money around. Just like Libya, they funneled $1+ Billion from the DHS. Now we're hearing they are transferring funds from Iraq to fund the terrorists and overthrow of Syria.

US Government continues to be conniving with shifting money around with impunity. So with the Federal Reserve, there's no stop to expenditures and money money around from one department to another agency or group. The whole, "GOP cut the State Department's security budget" has been a Left/Obama/Progressive lie-propaganda. If you look at the Baseline DOS budgets PLUS, their contingency funding during the year, security expenditures are up 12-18% a year for the past 4 years.

Now don't forget, that reduction in a 10% drop in funding, but if Barry has reduced the US military by over 30% and continues to draw down even further, why hasn't the budget dropped 30-50% then.
